If only no stars were an option.đ€ My husband and I have been long time customers to this location. Weâve put more money into this store than any of its competitors. Until today around 1ish. My husband, an U.S. Army veteran and someone who struggles with and has been in treatment for PTSD, stopped in to get a new bar and chain for his chainsaw. Once he found the aisle, he spent more time reorganizing the shelf because NOTHING was in the correct spot and was a complete disaster. Once he found the size chain he needed, he noticed the box had previously been opened. He checked to make sure the chain was what he needed. It was NOT. He needed a 32 inch. He pulled a TWELVE inch ouch of the box labeled for a 32 in. He then approached a male manager standing nearby and told him the situation. To which the manager, who was talking to my husband like a child, insisted it was a 32. When my husband urged that it in fact wasnât (heâs an experienced chainsaw-man) the manager said he would go measure it. He was gone nearly 20 minutes. During THAT time, my husband witnessed SEVERAL R.K. Employees trying on clothes and belts. The manager came back, set it in the box and said he measured and it was 32. But, my husband insisted (getting anxious/frustrated by this entire turn of events because nobody was taking him seriously) it was not. In fact if they WERE to measure and did a circumference measurement, it still wouldâve been 24 inches. Not 32. EVEN THE PRICE BAR STICKERS (after my hubby looked the code up) STATED IT WAS A 12 INCH CHANGE; yet it was IN a 32 inch chain box. At this point, my husband was embarrassed, frustrated, and just overall done with the lack of respect, professionalism, and general attitude of the manager(s) from the moment he approached. Being a military man with PTSD, in situations that make him uncomfortable in any way, his mouth says before he puts all the thought behind it. He did say some things toward the end of the conversation he shouldnât have, he admits that. In the heat of the moment; feeling how he felt, I honestly probably wouldâve reacted the same. In the end, my husband was able to purchase his items he already had, was escorted out of the building by a male and female manager, and told he was suspended for 15 days. All because of a situation that shouldâve been handled in a professional and HONEST manner from the start. We LOVE the franchise but this stores management AND employees could use a thorough lesson on professionalism and honesty in...
Read moreLocated in a strip mall (was once a KMart store). Lots of available parking. Handicap parking and wheelchair accessible. We enjoyed our shopping experience here at South Zanesville's Rural King. A lot of our chickens as well as our turkeys were from RK. 8 gallon feeder and waterer were from here as well. Unfortunately, we had a few chicks and one turkey pass 3 days after purchase. RK has a 24 hour return and exchange policy (btw, they want you to bring in your deceased livestock in the store to check), which I find 24 hours to be unfair and unacceptable but nothing I can do about that. Rules are rules, regardless of how eyebrow raising it may be. I suggest they change that rule and make it more fair and reasonable for small farmers. I have no dispute bringing in my deceased livestock but within 24 hours? Be realistic. Nonetheless, we like going to RK. A majority of our chickens purchased from RK are healthy, happy, free range chickens. Beautiful and full of delight! The eggs are organic, free range, colorful and beautiful! Happy Healthy chickens equals happy healthy eggs! We love our chickens and one turkey brought home from RK. Some of our chicken coop supplies were bought at RK as well. Lots of materials for starting your chicken homestead. The variety of chickens are wonderful. They offer turkey, other fowl and poultry chicks. We even purchased 3 Turkins! One of each color! The staff that are in the "chick đ„ department" were friendly and helpful. As far as certain, not all, just a couple cashiers were unpleasant and just plain rude to me, my granddaughter and family members. Not nice you two. Customer service over the phone were pleasant enough but clueless on what RK has to offer. They need a "cheat sheet" or something they can access via computer on products, materials and livestock offered. RK offers many things from "human snacks" to animal feed, farm needs, clothing, supplies, Yeti colors, cups, accessories, firearms and ammo and much much more! I recommend shopping here! We will definitely be back for lots more! Happy shopping and...
Read moreIf I could give a zero star review I would. After being a customer at this location for almost 4 years I am done. First they fired everyone who had livestock and or knew anything about anything including how to run a register. Likely to save from paying employee discounts to those who had a farm. Second I went to buy feed it was rang up I paid with my debit card. Register malfunctions and doesn't print a receipt. My card said approved remove card. Cashier gets manager. I show said manager my pending transaction on my bank account that I paid. I explain It said approved. Manager proceeds to say she checked some computer at customer service and it doesn't show I did. My transactions at rural king always say pending until the next day I explain this. She says no I need to swipe my card again because I didn't pay and the first charge will just fall off in a few days. So I do because my animals need feed and it is my only time off to buy it. 30 minutes later I exit said store being double charged. No surprise to me both transactions are completed by my bank the next day and I have been charged twice. I call store leave message for manager no return call. Finally end up filing a claim with my bank for the double charge 4 days later I still don't have a refund. I will be calling Rural King corporate office today. This is not the first time I had to wait to be refunded after overpaying for something. Honestly, I am done with the entire company not just this location. No amount of butt kissing could get me to shop at a Rural King again. I can buy what I need elsewhere and I will. The letting go of workers with farms to save on discounts is...
