Nice out-and-back trail with the majority of the steepness right at the San Dimas Avenue trailhead. The trail starts with a relatively steep decent for about a quarter of a mile just to get to the valley, where you'll encounter lush plants, some interesting rock formations, and multiple stream tributaries if the Puddingstone Reservoir is full enough. Also plenty of tree cover after the initial decent, so it's also nice for summer hiking. I don't recommend coming right after a rain due to mud and potential trail damage, but more importantly because of safety- the main stream that you have to cross to continue on the trail becomes a little treacherous to cross over. Otherwise, there would be a choice of rocks to hop on or a fallen tree trunk that could get you to the other side of the stream.

Nice with pets and little ones if the stream is low, but they might get tired in the end because you're going back uphill at the end of your hike. Definitely recommended for beginners, but with proper hiking shoes. Poison oak and rattlesnakes are known to be in the area (warnings clearly posted), but I haven't encountered any snakes and the poison oak is sparse and obvious.

Trailhead is clean and has a nice view of the Walnut Valley and has plenty of park tables to picnic on. No restrooms, but downtown San Dimas (and Via Verde area) are very close by. Parking is free, but actual parking lot spaces only fit about ten cars, including one handicap space. Overflow parking is street parking along San...

Overall, it’s a nice trail. The trail had some nice scenery and plenty of shade which I appreciated. It’s a great place to visit for a pleasant hike even in hot weather because the shade made it feel comfortable. There are several points along the trail where you need to cross the creek so be careful and remember that. I would highly recommend taking a visit there someday. My only complaint is the ugly graffiti in some areas. There’s graffiti on some of the trees and rocks but not too much. I didn’t mind it much because it wasn’t overwhelming but it looks bad in some areas. The graffiti wasn’t as bad as at the Etiwanda Falls trail, that one is very bad. Other than that, it’s a...

Great trail, goes almost to Grand Ave. This point is the only steep part. The rest of the trail is shaded with a creek. Really don't know where the waters coming from. Some graffiti but I personally like it. Active wildlife, seen coyotes, squirrels, rabbits, snakes, all sorts of birds, crawdads & I swear I heard a monkey. Not 100% about the monkey. This trail connects with Lyman, Walnut Creek, Valley Ctr, Antonovich trails to Wilderness Park. There's bridges, & stepping stones to cross the creek. A pool with a sketchy swing. Deteriorating structures, abandoned pipeline & flood control ways. Hidden gem in...
