Me and my kids visited Raging waters today. We had went last summer and had a great experience. This time was not anything close to what we experienced last summer. I believe that the park should control guest count alittle more than what I experienced today! With it being an extremely hot day out. There was extremely to many people for the experience to be an enjoyable one. Every water ride, food stand, restroom, and merchant had lines running so long you didn't know where they started and seemed alittle excessive. I've been to very popular water parks across the country and lines are expected. Today they just seemed ridiculously long and the wait times in the heat made for a miserable time. The so called lazy river is a attraction meant to fit the name "lazy". A spot in the park made for down time to kick back relax and go with the flow. The over crowding of people in the lazy river was so excessive that the water was cloudy and so much rowdiness from other guests my kids and I didn't even attempt to get in. Life guard and staff should not allow it to get that packed as well has the activities of out control pre teens and adults were just turned a blind eye to. I understand this is the biggest water park in LA. Which brings alot of revenue from parking and guest tickets that money is money! But to sacrifice the guest experience for that extra buck isn't acceptable. Guest experience is number one in our industry! From general admission parking feeling like we are cattle being herded in. Made to stand in the head in a over crowded line outside of the already crowded lines under the covered bus pick up areas was super disappointing. Because of the over crowding and long wait time to get a lift to the park. My kids and I along with other guest that were tired of cooking directly in the sun, decided to walk to the park from the GA parking lot! Regulating capacity seems to be a non focus. I think if stopping ticket sales at a certain head count and going to a sold out policy to stop a over populated park would be something to consider. Today my guest experience was one of the worst experiences at a water park that I have had. Side note please make park entrance for GA parking more clear in the purchasing portion on the website. To arrive at the location directions given and to be told to go 2 miles back from where I came make 3 lefts and then I would find GA parking was pretty irritating. All around in every aspect of my day at the park my guest experience as well as my kids experience was very disappointing. I dought we will return unless some of these issues I experienced first...
Read moreOur family visited Raging Waters while on vacation from Oregon. We pre purchased our tickets online, only to find out the day after we bought them they went on sale for half of what we paid. Bummer. We did rent a cabana before hand which was good we did because they sell out fast. The cabana was nice and came with 2 chairs, 2 loungers and a table. No electrical hook up and no trash can. Cell reception was good. I found the cabana to be clean and I enjoyed having a spot to claim without all the hustle and bustle of trying to get to the park early to stake a claim on some chairs. The cabanas do not off waiter/waitress services. The parking access is very far from the park and unless you pay $50 for premier parking you have to pay $35 and use the tram. The tram has a line to use it as well. You will have to wait for multiple trams in order to get to the park at opening and closing. Park hours said open till 6pm on the website, but they closed at 5pm. As expected, all the food and drinks were heavily priced. You can buy a refillable icee cup for $20, but every refill costs $5. The park does not allow hard, plastic coolers, but you can bring the cooler bags. They let you bring food and drink into the park without question. Even though the website says you can’t. I saw a lady bring 5 little Caesar’s pizzas in, and the staff didn’t say a thing. The park was short staffed and food lines were moving very, very slow. My kid stood in line for funnel cakes for over an hour. We went on a Friday and it was very busy. The kids weren’t able to really enjoy the park because the lines were so long. They mostly stuck to attractions without wait times. The wave pool was overcrowded and not very usable (in my opinion) because there were just too many bodies in it. The lazy river isn’t like other parks where you can just sit in a tube and lounge in circles. Kids use it as a play pool. You will get splashed and kicked by rowdy kids. Great for kids, not so much for adults. The river also had very limited tubes, so you couldn’t float on it even if you wanted to. You’d have to wait for someone to get out and hand it off, but I found most kids holding onto them until their buddies came and so we weren’t able to obtain one. All in all, I would not visit this park again. Nor did I think it was worth what we paid. I had really been wanting to visit the raging waters in Reno, but after this experience I won’t bother. I expect it would be the same. Overcrowded, overpriced and lacking in...
Read moreI recently visited Raging Waters in San Dimas over the holiday weekend, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The park was clearly unprepared for the crowds, and it showed in multiple areas.
We parked in General Parking, which required us to take a shuttle. The situation was extremely disorganized—there were only two buses and a tram running, with no staff managing the line. The crowd quickly became chaotic, and shuttles seemed to pick up people at random from the outskirts instead of the actual line. After waiting 45 minutes and realizing we’d likely be skipped again, we ended up walking to the park from General Parking. It took us 20 minutes on foot, yet we still arrived before the shuttle we would’ve been waiting for. Along the way, we noticed several buses just sitting idle and not being used, which made the poor transportation setup even more frustrating.
The lack of preparation extended into the park as well. Concessions were constantly running out of simple items like smoothies, and many attractions had only a limited number of rafts in rotation—sometimes as few as two per ride—which created extremely long wait times. We spent about an hour waiting in line just to order a burger and chicken sandwich. After finally getting our food, finding somewhere to eat was another challenge. Most of the tables were “reserved” with people’s belongings while they went off to enjoy rides, even though lockers were available for that exact purpose.
One of the most concerning parts of the day was witnessing how staff and security handled an incident near one of the slides. A group of visibly drunk minors got in line behind us, and one of the girls ended up getting sick. Staff were called, but 5–6 employees just came over, talked to her group, and then left without taking any meaningful action. Eventually, a security guard tried to climb over the ropes, tripped, and grabbed my arm roughly to catch himself—which was both unprofessional and uncomfortable. Even more shocking, the intoxicated minors were never escorted out of the line despite being clearly under the influence.
Between the lack of organization, long waits, poor resource management, and safety issues, the day was frustrating from start to finish. Would I come back or recommend Raging Waters San Dimas? Honestly, no. I expected much better preparation and oversight—especially on a busy...
