I recently worked with ServPro Tampa Southeast for water mitigation and reconstruction after Hurricane Milton caused water damage to my home. Navigating an insurance claim for the first time was overwhelming, but ServPro made the process smooth and stress-free.
From the start, their professionalism and excellent communication stood out. My insurance company recommended them, and I decided to trust their expertiseāand Iām so glad I did. ServPro guided me through each step of the process, patiently explaining how the claim, mitigation, and reconstruction phases would proceed.
Two individuals made this experience truly exceptional: Justin Cowan, the Production Manager, and Jeannette Groves, the office coordinator. Justin came to my home for the initial evaluation, and his professionalism, punctuality, and neat appearance immediately impressed me. He listened attentively to my concerns, explaining every detail of the process so I felt informed and comfortable. His empathy, patience, and clear communication were remarkable.
What made Justin stand out was his hands-on involvement and dedication. He didnāt just supervise; he actively coordinated his team, ensuring every task was completed efficiently and to the highest standard. He stayed in constant communication through calls, emails, and texts, keeping me updated and answering all my questions. His friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and infectious enthusiasm created a positive atmosphere that made a challenging situation manageable.
Behind the scenes, Jeannette was instrumental in ensuring everything ran smoothly. She handled scheduling, correspondence, and inquiries with exceptional care and professionalism. When I visited the Tampa Southeast office to finalize payment, I had the chance to meet Jeannette in person. Her warm, friendly personality and positive energy made even routine interactions enjoyable. Itās clear she takes pride in her work and in helping customers.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooking back on the experience, they didn't do all that could have been done to save flooring and to dry underneath efficiently. Some of their advice was off as well, such as telling us that our plank flooring doesn't dry underneath when wet. That is factually incorrect. They were also very expensive charging over 3 grand to put 11-12 fans and a couple humidifiers in the house, ripping some trim out and coming over three times to check on fans.
Worst yet is that I told them multiple times (including the last day they were over) not to submit the claim to our insurance company. Instead, things were submitted which will cost us a rate increase with our policy next year - we confirmed this with our insurance company. They tried defending their actions by telling me that once they put the insurance company info in their system, they have to send it. That's fine. Had that been communicated to me when I first brought this up (when they arrived at my house) I would have never given them claim information.
I would never use ServPro again. Lesson learned, unfortunately for us it came at a significant cost.
By the way, any follow up by ServPro to this review ought to respond directly to my point that I told them when they arrived at our house that I wasn't sure we wanted to move forward with a claim. At that point, Justin should have told us that once they enter insurance info it has to be submitted. If that were done, we would never have given them the...
