Face Rock Beach in BANDON OREGON is where you will discover CIRCLES IN THE SAND LABYRINTH CREATIONS. I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Face Rock Beach on Sunday June 26,2021. I love the rock formations on this beach. So needless to say when I approached the parking lot it was extremely full. I thought this was due to the excessive heat wave that had spread inland so everyone had the same idea to escape and visit the beach. As I looked from above there was a large labyrinth carved in the sand. It was breathtaking and beautiful. The lines were so precise from my viewpoint. As I walked down the beach access stairway I realized that there were quite a few visitors actually walking the labyrinth. I spent about 45 minutes walking in it. The detail was amazing. I could overhear the chatter from all around as people spoke in awe of the spiritual journey of this creation in the sand. When I returned home I posted the pictures on Facebook and a friend sent me a link to the webpage called CIRCLES IN THE SAND. It actually started in 2015. The artist is Denny Pyke and he has a team of volunteers that assist him in creating the DREAMFIELD. The low tides determine what time Denny & his team start to create the labyrinth and as the high tide comes in it disappears. Washed away but do not fret as the next morning Denny Pyke and his team will be creating a new labyrinth of the day. Starting April 30, 2021 through August 25, 2021 you too can enjoy this awesome creation. Please visit VENUESANDMENUSLEESIA.COM to enjoy...

It was beautiful! When I saw the face rock for the first time and the face popped out at me it was an awesome moment. I walked around the viewpoint for a bit, taking some photos, but then went down the long flight of stairs. Eventually the hand rail is on one side only and open on the other. Wood steps turn to earth, rock and mud of uneven heights. The bottom of It he steps was an uneven pile of rocks and mud. I have a bum leg and could not have made it without my trekking poles.

Once down there it was easy to get around the beautiful beach. Tide was on its way out so the place was enormous and you could walk around and see all these cool rock structures.

I stayed out a little later than I intended looking for my photography partner so it got dark before I headed back. I was faced with a giant wall of black. Where were the steps? The moon wasn't out and the tall clifside runs along the whole section of beach. Plus that stupid mess at the bottom of the steps. If you're going to be out late, bring a light. I had my headlamp and the reflective sign lead me right to where I need to be.

I just explored a small section of the beach in one weather condition. Definitely...

I was blessed to get the opportunity to visit today. The wind was strong, so the sand was moving & dancing on the beach, the light cloudy blanket moved swiftly, as if a silk dress slipping, and I had to tighten my green Jockey USA cap.

Wife had to tilt my head to make me see it. I do require help time to time, I am slow. Strolled around a little, went through a couple of nuggets of information. Enjoyed spicy beans with rice, and little bit of apple pie. For which I have been complaining it's "too big", but I jump in always and gorgeous on it like an animal. Thank you Fred Meyers, for an amazing $6 pie.

Enjoyed a smoke in the wind. Dumped the bud in the bin. Dazed and confused by the cleanliness of the restroom. Witnessed two ravens engaged in a conversation, saw myself and wife in them.

While writing this, I am going back that "too...

We stopped here after a late start and big breakfast. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this beach. There is a bigger concentration of notable rocks and geographic forms here than anywhere else we visited on our trip up the coast. You can enter this beach from two separate access points on Beach Loop Road and we parked at one then walked to the other. Afterwards, we walked along the road which offered sweeping views on the beach we just explored below. This town is so cool with the small houses that dot the coastline. This beach would be a great place to visit with kids or your dog. It was very windy and covered in debris (driftwood) when we visited in early September but was much less crowded than other places we visited on this trip. If you are in Bandon, definitely stop here to explore!

This is a nice viewpoint. Stopped here on my way back to coos Bay. Really appreciate the restrooms here. They were nice and clean and very new and updated. The parking lot looked like it was freshly striped. If there wasn't as much wind, this would been a far more enjoyable. View stop for us but with two little ones under two there really wasn't much opportunity to take in the fuse. There's lots to see here and apparently a trail that leads down to the beach. As you can see, there's even some horseback riding that goes through this area which in and of itself is impressive. I love to come back and revisit this place when there's less wind. It's definitely worth checking out if you have not been there yourself
