I've been to the Cornwall bridge several times. My daughter and I love to go on Sunday drives and it's such a beautiful drive up into the Cornwall area. I love to photograph the bridge and recently it has been hit by a truck. So my daughter and I took a ride up there to see if it was under repair or if it had been fixed. And luckily for us the bridge was open and had been repaired and was beautiful as ever. There are some benches by the river and my daughter and I enjoy sitting by the river watching kayakers and fishermen. It's an absolutely beautiful historic covered bridge and the state of Connecticut is lucky to have it. If you're ever out driving around on the weekend and would love a little bit of history drive up to the Cornwell bridge. It's a...

I visited this site passing through town. There are plenty of signs to bring you to this bridge. The bridge is used for regular traffic and was pretty busy when I was on it. Be careful walking through it. There was a small parking lot one end of the bridge...no more than 10 spots. The town is very hilly, so not great for walking around. There is a better view of the bridge and the river from the opposite side. In my opinion, it's really not that picture friendly. I think it's been rebuilt several times? I can still appreciate the history though. There's not a lot of interesting shops in the area. If I took the long trip just for the bridge I would have been...

Just so pretty. Not too many covered bridges! Wonderful views. Must love nature! Appreciation for amazing things in the past is also much needed! Park and walk around West Cornwall, a town that is currently under renovation and absolutely adorable. Can not wait for more places and stores to be open a little more, like New Preston The art gallery that is there is amazing. Currently there is an amazing furniture store and the catch all store, plus another book store is open on weekends. Cute place to catch on way to Kent. So many hiking trails and the water is amazing for kayaking or just enjoying the beautiful scenery. ...

If you enjoy seeing historical places and some of the old construction used to build some of these Bridges you'll love this place.. a small parking area is provided on one side of the bridge if you'd like to get out and take some photographs of the bridge and the river below. *Shortly after I wrote this review, a trailer carrying heavy equipment came through and due to insufficient clearance, caused considerable structural damage to bridge. Repair was performed immediately and bridge sound again.
