I feel like Mother Goose Resale is a rip-off. The clothes are priced fairly if you just go purchase them, however, if you decide to sell your clothes, the deal is not great. The toddler clothes I brought in to sell were never used and were in better condition than many clothes they were selling and they wouldnt take them. I sold used clothes and they took them. Does that make sense?
I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and tried to sell more clothes and toys a couple of months later. The lady asked me if I wanted to sell or have in-store credit. I told her in-store credit because you get more credit than cash. I looked through the store, and found nothing I was interested in. I asked the lady if it was ok to just have the cash instead and she told me no because it was hard to go back and change the purchase records or paperwork. I looked around the store again and asked her if I could give my in -store credit to someone that was shopping since I wasnt going to use it. She got huffy and puffy and finally gave me my $8.00.
Went back a third time and tried to sell some really nice toys. They said they dont take toys that dont have batteries in them. Really? You'd think they would have batteries in the store as a courtesy.
Anyways...FYI....make sure you have batteries in your toys, if you decide to sell them but don't expect to get even 1/4 of the price you paid originally and don't go in there if you're expecting good customer service. I've been to a childrens resale store in Eugene that gives you a lot more...
Read moreFantastic experience! I wish we would have started here when we began shopping! They have all the old, authentic, ideal style of baby clothing that I LOVE, that you can't find anywhere else (as well as some more modern stuff)--and it's not just clothes. They have everything you need from pump pieces to swings to oils to room decor to maternity clothing, you name it. It is a resale store so there may not be specific items there at all times. But let me tell you, it is well worth the visit. Their pricing is phenomenal and all of their items are in really great shape. I got a Boppy pillow for $9, with a cover! You can't even tell that it's been used. It's priced at $30 brand new, and higher based on the store and if you get a cover. Not only that, but the place is very well organized, spacious, and nicely decorated. The store is locally owned and the woman who owns/runs it is very very kind. I haven't been treated that well as a customer in years. So, overall, I had a great experience. I am a...
Read moreI am SO disappointed in my relationship I tried to establish from MG. I've bought and sold. My experience taking items there is shocking and SO disappointing. I've been in sales all my life AND have owned a retail store. But when you feel totally ripped off..especially when you bought from there...& returned the SAME item, 6 mths later, completely unused...You paid what you thought was overpriced..but "fair" condition....& got paid back a Pittance...of what you paid when you bought it 6 mths earlier :(!! Plus several other items in excellent condition for next to NOTHING!!! Go to The ARC. At least its a great cause...& if you're getting NOTHING for it...at least it's a great donation. Did you know...if MG doesnt sell it...it THEIRS?? I believe in using small business. I believe in them making a viable living AND making money. But eesch...give me a break! The ARC. ...only option...or Goodwill. They have...
