Coiner Park — Attraction in Cottage Grove

This park could be beautiful but unfortunately there are safety issues with the homeless. Just as other reviewers have said, watch your children closely and do not let them use the restrooms unattended. Personally, I wouldn't use them at all. Feces on the floor, no means of sanitation like soap or paper products. Today, a drugged out man and woman exited the men's side together looking very rough. During an earlier visit this year, I witnessed a woman pull down her pants and inject herself in the thigh with a needle. It would be nice if the covered areas like the gazebo could be used for normal gatherings instead of for camped out transients doing drug exchanges and other questionable activities. I have never been here without witnessing crime. I'm not sure why Cottage Grove police don't foot patrol this park? It needs it! I only stop when there are other families. Safety in numbers. I wish Bohemia had bucket swings for very young children. It's the only reason I come to Coiner, but this will be my last visit until the City of Cottage Grove addresses the serious safety and sanitation concerns.

We were drafting out of town and decided to stop here to have a picnic type lunch. I do not regret it. This is one of the best parks that I've ever been to, especially consider that we just happen to stumble upon it. There's everything you could ever want here in a park. Lots of seating areas. Lots of grassy areas. Lots of shaded areas that huge playground. Plenty of picnic spots and a decent amount of space to walk and roam about. There's also a restroom area which most playgrounds and Parks don't have if I'm ever in the area. Again, I look forward to visiting this Park, but being that I'm from out of town, it's very unlikely that I'll go here again. If you're a local or even nearby, definitely check...

Nice, spacious, and shady Cottage Grove park and former site of the Annual Bohemia Days celebration. Near some basketball and pickleball courts.

According to many accounts told within Cottage Grove Facebook groups there have often been sketchy, pervy, and questionable characters lurking around here and so you should keep an eye on your children if you're allowing them to play here.
