Homestead Furniture — Local services in Cottage Grove

we visited Homestead furniture back in October of 2023, seemed like a nice group of people. I like the small town mom and pop setting, and like buying local. We ordered a chair, went with American made, was told it would be 4-6 weeks before delivery. Christmas came and went, no word from Homestaed, so I called, was told they had a short delay because of the holidays. Okay, fine. couple more weeks goes by, nothing...so I go in to the store, owner says, well the delay was because the manufacturer didn't have the fabric I ordered (that would have been nice to know months ago), but that my chair had shipped as of January 10th and should be here within 2 weeks. No word as of February 12, so I call again, talk to a lady, she states "no shipments have come in,but we'll call you as soon as it does". I ask to talk to the owner..."oh, he's out of town, but I'll have him call you when he gets back"...not a word. So I call again yesterday to be told by another guy that they "just got confirmation that the order is being shipped". So I'm not even sure if I will ever get the chair I ordered almost 5 months ago. The communication is non-existent, and everyone there just gives you the run around. Sadly I won't be supporting this local...

We wanted to keep our business local and purchase American made. I saw their website on an internet search and because it was local to us (20 minutes away) we decided to stop by and see what they had. They have a lot of home furnishing in store and on the floor. We've been here 1 1/2 hours looking and trying out their couches. We were not bugged constantly, when we needed questions asked we were helped and then left to privately talk. We purchased a couch, loveseat and recliner at an amazing price. It will be delivered the next day, early. I absolutely love my furniture set. We weren't up sold anything and no high pressure sales. We will definitely be back when we need something else for the home. The prices are unbelievable, as I have looked around and compared. I am truly pleased with this experience. Unfortunately, my husband and I are extremely disappointed in the floors we purchased for our new home. When we came and picked them out they were the only kind shown to us. We were told they were durable, and easy to clean which sparked our interest since we have a toddler. The floors were done in May and Homestead furniture employees have had to come out 3 times already and fix places where the floor has separated and bubbled up. I have attached pictures below.
