We reserved site 7 which had the reputation as the best site. It was larger with lots of trees and near the creek. Had a good sized fire pit and a grill. Two tables as well were there. However the fact that lots of rock climbers kept going through our site to get to some rocks all day long was rather annoying. Also the guy that keeps an eye on things here lives up to his bad reputation from other reviews as someone that keep harassing people about parking and he loiters around your site watching you and he wants to know exactly how many people will be there. Its like dude, we paid to reserve it, we followed parking directions and put on website under reservations how many people were estimated. He needs to take a chill pill and let us do our own thing since we paid for it. This guy is horrible, beware. Worth it if you can to go elsewhere. Keep in mind this guy also watches the next two sites up from dogwood as well but has his trailer at dogwood and stays there the most as its the...
Read moreThis is a fun and easy place for a day picnic! It's super convenient, located right off Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, making it a quick trip from Salt Lake City.
There are seven picnic areas of various sizes, so you can find one that fits your group, and there's plenty of parking. Each site is well-equipped with picnic tables, a campfire ring, and some grills. We found the sites to be very well-maintained and beautiful. If you're going in the morning, Site 1 offers excellent shade.
The only minor drawback is that the prices seemed a bit steep for a day-use area, but it's more reasonable if you snag one of the smaller sites. Definitely recommend for a quick...
Read moreIt seemed like a very pretty area for a picnic. My fiancée and I were just trying to eat our lunch at a picnic table but apparently we missed the signs about having to pay a fee. $15 JUST to eat at a public picnic table! Manager lady at the trailer came over and demanded we pay. We said we must’ve missed the signs and we would be happy to pay. She called us blind for missing the signs and was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Imagine being so miserable, that you have to get enjoyment for yelling at people for making a mistake. What a power trip management is on. There are plenty of other places to eat for FREE so I will not ever be...
