Everytime I travel to Klamath, or further North I always take the old Hwy and stop for a bathroom break at the Big Tree, takes me back when I was a kid. Since I was about 11years old say 1973 i've gone there and other than the plants around there and a tree or two that has fallen it's stayed the same. It's huge, when I'm there I try to imagine the whole forest being of trees close to that size. And I get this feeling that I'm a little person. It's so magical. I go there at least once or twice a month. And even though the bathrooms are a bit primative it is always clean. Never is there trash around and there is plenty of parking for the visitors that come very quit and friendly it really hard to discribe. The tree has plenty of magical powers to keep a million people in awe. Come see this massive Redwood...

I CAME ALL THE WAY FROM FLORIDA FOR THESE GARGANTUANS!! And let me tell ya....they didn't disappoint Jack(or Jill[or Jack/Jill]). The good thing about this stop is you get a few different trails and they aren't too long and straight to the point. AND within a few hundred feet you dint hear cars and can even find some streams. So much serenity everywhere. Make sure you walk all the trails and not just the loops. The thing that kept getting me was wondering what was around the corner. And guess what?? Yep. ...There's always more of God's beautiful canvas to see. Have fun and let me know if my review helped you on...

This is my second time hiking in the Big Tree Wayside Trail this year. Last time in early March, it was raining and forest was pretty dark and gloomy, so I told myself that I had to come back again. Here I am! The weather was perfect today, you could catch the sunshine through the forest canopy, in some areas that the Big Tree had fallen, the Sun was shining on the floor, and small redwood and other plants were vying for the sunshine and space, the fittest will survive and flourish. You would be amazed that these 1500-2000 years living things had been here waiting for you to visit, magical...

Checked out multiple trails throughout the state and national park and this one was a favorite. Big Tree is a Definite see and the Cathedral Tree is excellent. There are some places where I must have missed a sign or it wasn't marked, but it's fine because it leaf to the Prairie Ranger Station and Gift Shop where it was easy to get back on track (and I'd planned on visiting anyway). It only added about half a mile. Make sure you plan enough time to just stand in the trail in awe and take a ton of pictures.
