I tried to go to the visitor center on three different occasions and was not successful. It seemed my first attempt was during an inventory. At the visitor center itself. So during this inventory the visitor center was closed during what would have been normal business hours. From what I could tell they would or should have been open until 4:00 p.m. I was on site and at the front door at 3:30 and it did not appear anyone was around nor was the visitor center open. I looked and could not find an explanation so I was just assuming since it may have been a slow day everyone took off early?

I loved it and learned so much info - easily - because of the passion of our Guide, Fern. I also got a really cool jacket (I am wearing in picture with Fern) at a great price. We had not planned to make this trip until we were already on the road, had never been to California and the park staff here were so welcoming and helpful.
