The grounds itself was beautiful but we were only able to go as far as the tasting room. Jim was great.
Why I gave two stars:
We made a appointment with Natalia to tour for a potiental wedding venue. When we were running late my fiance called her to let her know and turned out she wouldnt have been there anyway. She didnt bother to call us and let us know she was too busy to show the venue. On top of this after asking 3x, we never received a wedding brochure. Natalia alone turned me off from wanting to have a wedding here. Which was very disappointing because I was very excited to tour since we had one of our first dates here.
Edit: In response to Natalia, the lack of accountability further confirms my point the process was unprofessional. Even if there was no other area to tour, you could have shown us where the weddings actually take place outside, answered questions, etc. The free tasting was the least the winery could do for our experience. Thank you for further confirming my decision not to give this place the time of day. Will not...
Read moreWe are wine club members here and visit often! Wines are good, location is great and most of the staff is wonderful! However the last 2 times we visited have not been pleasant. We understand that Covid poses certain challenges. We visited yesterday arriving at 4:10 when they close at 5pm. The same gentlemen we had less than positive experiences with was the only employee there. We never plan to stay past closing time! At any winery we visit. And we are members at 7 clubs in Crozet! We wanted to share a bottle and was told last sales are at 4:30. Ok....He then proceeded to open every door in the tasting room even though we were the ONLY people there. It was 33 degrees outside! He was making our visit as uncomfortable as possible, I can only assume to encourage us to leave. I've worked in a tasting room years back and fully understand wanting to leave work on time. But this gentlemen has show the same annoyance on other occasions as well. Grace may want to consider if he represents the kind of customer service...
Read morePlace was nice and would love to give a good review of the wine, but the tasting ruined my visit. The person working the tasting table was rude and condescending. In every other tasting I have been to the employees have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable on their product and wine in general. Questions were encouraged, even for those not generally familiar with wine. At Grace I was made to feel ignorant and uninformed. Multiple shots were taken by the employee to belittle me and the small group I was with. I may have purchased bottles but wanted to leave as soon as possible as I was there to enjoy my experience. With several avesome vineyards to choose from in the area I'd recommend going elsewhere. It is the ONLY place we went that I won't be revisiting... (the experience might have been different with a better person...
