We stayed one night at the inn to celebrate our anniversary for a quick getaway. The Inn itself is very charming and welcoming. There are a lot of little touches like fresh cookies, a water station, games in the library and a self check out wine fridge. In our room we had chocolates, a bottle of wine chilled and wine glasses. We were very pleased with how beautiful everything was.
Before coming we went back and forth for awhile on whether we should splurge on the wine cellar dinner which is $150 per person or just do the chef's supper ($50 per person). We finally decided to splurge as we are big food people. This is where we were left feeling disappointed. The first two courses were fine, we had smoked salmon wontons and a butternut squash soup. The soup was fantastic and we were excited for the main course. This was steak with a turnip mash and a beet sauce. We received probably close to 2-3 oz of steak which was cooked very rare. Mine was edible but my Fiancé could only eat one piece of his as it was very chewy. The whole plate took about 4-5 bites to finish. Then dessert was sorbet which was very icey. For the wine pairing we received 4 half glasses. The wine at Stinson's is amazing and was a highlight of the trip. Overall though, we spent $400 after tip on dinner and were left feeling hungry and disappointed. We could easily spend that amount in DC at a Michelin star dinner.
We were still looking forward to breakfast, as I had seen many posts online of their breakfast. We received a pumpkin loaf, a yogurt parfait and egg salad on half a piece of toast. it was all delicious but we were again left feeling a little underwhelmed. It didn't seem like any of it was prepared fresh, just assembled and warmed up.
I was looking forward to this stay as I had followed The Inn on Instagram for awhile. In total we spent close to $800 for one night and we were left feeling like we had wasted money. I hate leaving a negative review since the place itself is very relaxing and the staff there were beyond nice...
Read moreOur family booked the entire Inn in June. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a cheery welcome note from Stephanie and Amy, fresh flowers and savored a cheese plate with a chilled bottle of their delicious, crisp, fruity well paired Rose of Tannat. Each morning we sat on the deck overlooking the spectacular view of the pool, vineyard and Blue Ridge Mountains while enjoying an amazing three course gourmet breakfast prepared and served by the Innkeeper, Stephanie. (Still dreaming about that creamy yogurt parfait with fresh berries and homemade granola plus the amazing specialty coffees!) Stephanie was a most endearing, resourceful, sincere, and professional presence to us each and every day. The Inn is spacious; favorite spots were the deck and screened porch overlooking the fantastic view, the game room playing games and collectively putting together wine themed puzzles, the self-serve wine bar, and having a restful night sleep in the well-appointed comfortable bedrooms. All rooms were wonderful, however the Deluxe Room was splendid. The Wine Cellar Dinner is highly recommended as a variety of their wines were served with each course. (Thank you to Chef Megan and Fiona for a wonderful experience!) The Inn is located adjacent to the Stintson Winery; we were able to wander through the vineyard and admire the beauty of the vines and fruit yet to mature. My husband particularly enjoyed meeting with owner Scott Stintson and winemakers, Nathan Vrooman and Rachel Stintson Vrooman. We cannot extend enough kudos to everyone who made our vacation at the Inn so enjoyable and relaxing. It was a perfect spot to explore the area and most of all having the pleasure to taste their...
Read moreWhat an amazing little hidden gem this place turned out to be. Absolutely lovely rooms, great atmosphere, and amazing hosts. Lets start off with the rooms. Very spacious, clean, and decorated with class. The views of the mountains and winery are spectacular. Little chocolates welcomed us, as well as lavish spaces and good quality furniture. The lotions/soaps are also of high brand name, and, the toilet paper is double ply! So much better than other places I have stayed at!
The main areas are also decorated with lots of class and much entertainment. What seems to be like a 20' projector screen is available to use, as well as a wood and gas fireplaces, at which you can use at your discretion...of course we went with the wood fireplace (complete with log and kindling). There is also a guest office, kitchen, library, and a beautiful wine cellar that you can visit.
The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, and also cooked a 3 course breakfast that came included with the stay. So much better than a continental breakfast. Homemade yogurts, pastries, and a high end hot dish presented beautifully.  Just amazing.
Lastly, I would recommend pairing your stay with a dinner. We did the chef's supper and it was excellent. Dinner and a wine pairing that was well proportioned, delicious, and welcomingly presented. Cooked just downstairs of where you stay, so you literally have a gourmet meal and delicious wine, and then walk back upstairs and relax in your room. What...
