Sheridan Park — Attraction in Cudahy

decent enough place to take kids to swim. Splash pad kiddie pool was a little on the dirty side but large pool nice and clean. My 10 year old was disappointed however as he tested twice to go on the deep end and use the slides (which was the motivator for coming to this pool) he was failed twice by the same lifeguard who was not really watching him test. He glanced and then looked away several times as my son was swimming. My son has taken swimtastic classes for two summers and is ABLE to swim. My honest take was that they wanted to trim the amount of activity on the deep end and make their jobs a bit easier by not having to keep an eye on so many kids. I kept count and there were only 5-7 kids on the slides and the deep end at any given time, which for as large a pool as Sheridan is that was a small amount of kids being allowed on the deep end. Beautiful paths to walk, can walk right on the beach, and watch the fierce waves! My experience was peaceful and romantic around noonish and got some amazing photos. Plus learned about beach glass and gained a new hobby thanks to another couple that was there. Which was surprising, for depending on where u go. Its pretty secluded and a huge beach. I definitely will be returning and love ir there every time! It’s a great place to cry. Very large area so if you don’t want people to see you crying you can always find a spot where they won’t. The birds can see you though. They are always watching and judging. Squirrels don’t seem that interested and keep moving along looking for nuts. They practically ignore you because they are so focused on there nuts!
