Crazy Horse — Attraction in Custer

So disappointed! Things are on a downward slide it seems. I been coming here for many years.

Last week we had friends from Illinois come. They are originally from China. They were excited to come to see this. I had told them about the great food (Indian Taco’s) and the pow wow demonstrations they always had. We get there and there is no pow wow going on that day we were told.

The restaurant was a disappointment also. The Frybread for the Indian Taco was very undercooked. We came here for thanksgiving dinner 2 years in a row. The first year the Thanksgiving dinner was awesome. This last November 2024 was a real bummer. To top it off the our waitress was giving excuses for the bad service as being understaffed. The food for last thanksgiving seemed like it was precooked and way undercooked. We spent over 180 dollars and more on tips. The tips seemed like the waitress was begging for the tips.

I told these things to a staff member who took our tickets. He said the CEO was making changes people didn’t like. That’s too bad that happens. He also said the CEO got rid of the old cook. That was too bad. Because the cook before was a great cook.

We appreciate the efforts taken to build this memorial, but We did not enjoy this place at all. It is overly expensive because it's not government owned and they charge per person, not per car. Prices are even more if you go on weekends. There is also a museum and some live shows that happen on site (appreciate the talent but didn't enjoy much)

The memorial is still under construction and there is a bus that takes you to the construction site from where you could take a closer look (bus is not free). Mount Rushmore is much better and...

In my eyes, a total rip-off. $30 for two people, plus $5 each for a mandatory bus ride just to get a proper view – without it, you barely see anything.

The museum? Meh. It’s basically a construction site with some displays thrown in. Not worth the price.

Progress? Maybe finished by 2125… if we’re lucky. 😅

Positive: The entrance looks cool – like a casino drive-in, just leading to a giant construction zone. 😅😅
