My husband and I went to the Laughing Water Restaurant for Valentine's Day, in hopes that it would be a good meal. However, we weren't too impressed by our waitress or the food. Our waitress wasn't too friendly and she spent most of her time at the table next to us, socializing with their kid. It would have been nice to get a refill or offered a dessert (that came with the meal) but instead, she literally sat, facing us, at the table next to us, never acknowledging our needs. Then, at the end, she disappeared. My husband and I were stuck sitting, by ourselves, in the restaurant, past closing time, because she never came back. Eventually, my husband got up and went to go find her. She came out and said, "sorry guys, I was doing things in the back." Okay? What things? In addition to the less than satisfactory service, the "salad bar" was out of a the majority of the toppings so I had lettuce, onions and olives and that was it on my salad ( I would have liked other veggies such as cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots...at least). I ordered surf and turf that said it came with shrimp but failed to mentioned breaded shrimp, the shrimp ended up being slimy to the taste so that was disgusting and our veggies came out cold....sort of like out of a can cold....so our meal wasn't the best either, especially for a "Valentine's Day Special." Lastly, after the waitress finally came out, we said we would like cheesecake (the complimentary dessert). To our surprise the waitress told us that the only thing they had left was regular cheesecake when I literally watched another waiter bring out an assortment of cheesecakes to a different table 10 min. prior. Now, if our waitress would have been on top of serving her table and asked us when/if we wanted our dessert 10 min prior to us asking, we probably could have gotten a chocolate or raspberry puree one, but no, she decided to screw around and then once we ordered our dessert it was past closing time so I feel like they probably had other flavors of cheesecake but had already put all of the stuff away and was too lazy to get it back out so we got stuck with these pathetic pieces that were falling apart. Anyways, this was our experience at Laughing Water. I'm glad I know of this restaurant and what I took away from this experience is to never go...

Delicious Native American Taco's!

Had the most strangest encounter at the restaurant. After touring the beautiful museum we stopped by for taco's. We had our small Yorkie with us so we wanted to eat outside and so we asked. The hostess was unsure and asked the lady manager who promptly said they don't serve the outside seats that's only for the quick convenience store.

So I asked can I take to go then, and THEN eat outside. The hostess again asked the manager who again said they don't serve outside. The hostess repeated the question this time emphasizing it's a Togo order, the manager frustratingly said they do NOT do Togo. The hostess apologized confusingly, and so I asked if we dined in and didn't finish could we take the left overs. The hostess asked this to the manager who again repeated loudly THEY DO NOT DO TOGO ORDERS. The hostess explained about eating in and taking the left overs, the manager was then ok with this?

So I waited outside while my wife sat down at a table by herself and ordered our meal. The girl who was part of this whole ordeal already knew and asked if she wanted everything in a Togo container, THANK YOU! The food was brought out in a Togo container and so we ate in our car so we didn't upset the manager, just in case.

I don't understand why this was so difficult. Major props to the hostess for understanding our situation. Booo to the manager. Food was fantastic! Taco's are big enough they can be shared. I do appreciate the museum allowed pets, we carried him the...

I would've loved to be able to review the food. However, thanks to the dishonest host my family and I didn't even get the chance to eat. We drove 5.5 hrs to come to Crazy Horse. It was 7:30 when I checked in and was told we would have to wait 15-20 mins. I was told I would get a text. We walked thru the museum and gift shop and no text ever came. I have a photo I took directly after checking in behind another group that shows 7:36. I stood up front and waited for about 10 minutes for anyone to come up front or acknowledge myself and a group of others standing there. They also had never gotten a text and were turned away. The host told me we were written down for 7:45 which is an incorrect time. We were offered excuses and the snack bar. Snack bar had already quit selling hot food. I had to settle for a pretzel that was hard as a rock. Unfortunately I couldn't eat it. As a result of the poor service and conditions I and my parents weren't able to take important meds. For being part of a tourist attraction its extremely sad. This is part of the last vacation I'll get to take with my parents and theres a black mark on it. We are currently waiting for the light show to start on the monument, hungry and extremely...

#LaughingWaterRestaurant takes its name from an area creek with headwaters at the bottom of Crazy Horse Mountain. We were seated looking out the window with great views of the Crazy Horse monument. The waitress took our order and the food arrived quickly and hot. My husband opted for the #BBQBourbonBurger which was drizzled with a wonderful bourbon BBQ sauce. the burger came with several strips of bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and some lovely onion rings. The burger came with a choice of side, he enjoyed the #PotatoSalad I wanted to try one of their specialties the #TatankaStew Prime cuts of tender Black Hills Bison, slow cooked with carrots, sweet peas, onions, potatoes and celery, simmered in their own blend of tasty seasonings, served with fry bread, and cheese garnish. I loved that the stew came with their native fry bread. The dish was yummy, loved the flavor, and enjoyed dipping the bread in the stew. Overall a great meal, with a great view with wonderful service. A great way to end our visit at Crazy Horse Memorial.

We visited in October with a bus group (28 people) for dinner. First we were thrilled that they would accommodate us for dinner even though they closed earlier to the public. The view was absolutely beautiful and as the sun went down, the memorial became even more stunning. 🤩 The food was delicious and almost everything we enjoyed that night was made from scratch. The staff was extremely friendly and service was top-notch. We were treated like royalty. 👑💖 When we left, the security guard who closed down the memorial gave each of us a rock that was removed during construction on that day. What a great personal touch! Every thing from the moment we arrived to the time we left was professional and personable. From the entire bus load we want to say thank you so much for having us. It was a highlight of our tour.
