The Beaver Marsh is a beautiful beaver made wetland with over 240 birds and other wildlife that come to this spot. It is located on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. This was originally a junkyard prior to 1984. The Sierra Club cleaned up the junk. Then the beaver got to work and made a wetland within Ohio's only National Park. I have visited this place over 50 times. It's great to just observe or you can bike right on a wooden bridge that goes through it. The boardwalk is the best spot for spotting anything but as you walk the towpath keep an eye on the trees or in the water for wildlife. The path is flat so it's easy to walk or run & there are benches to sit at along the way. The boardwalk is well-maintained and free of bumps and trip hazards.
