I recently had the pleasure of visiting Uhuburg, also known as Eagle Owl Castle, and it was truly a magical experience. Nestled in the scenic landscape of Helen, GA, Uhuburg stands as a testament to architectural beauty and historical allure.
From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the castle's stunning exterior. The stonework and intricate design transported me back to medieval Europe, making me feel like I had stepped into a fairy tale. The surrounding grounds were equally enchanting, with well-maintained gardens and picturesque views of the surrounding mountains.
Inside, the castle did not disappoint. Each room was meticulously decorated, reflecting different periods and styles. The Great Hall, with its grand fireplace and impressive chandeliers, was a highlight. It was easy to imagine grand feasts and gatherings taking place there. The library, filled with antique books and cozy reading nooks, was another favorite spot. I spent some time exploring the various collections and soaking in the ambiance.
One of the standout features of Uhuburg is the attention to detail. Every corner of the castle has been thoughtfully designed and curated. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, providing interesting insights into the history and inspiration behind the castle. Their passion for the place was evident and added to the overall experience.
The castle also offers a variety of activities and events. During my visit, I had the chance to participate in a medieval-themed workshop, which was both fun and educational. The castle's calendar is filled with unique events, so there's always something interesting happening.
Overall, my visit to Uhuburg was unforgettable. It's a perfect destination for history enthusiasts, architecture buffs, and anyone looking to experience a bit of magic. Whether you're exploring the grounds, admiring the interiors, or participating in one of their events, Uhuburg promises a...
Read moreIf you have children and are going because they are excited to climb some castle towers, I'm sure they will enjoy it. But I went as an adult, with a group of 8 other adults, and we did not. Thus, that is what my review is based on. Save your $35 - we wish we had! It's newly built and as other reviews have said, and the business acknowledges, they still have work to do and will continue to add to the decor of the place. The views from top of towers were nice, but otherwise I wasn't very impressed with the design/decor. It has potential though. Also since it's new, naturally there is nothing historic to learn, nor was there anything truly interesting about it. Sure, we got a few cute group pictures, but not worth the collective $280 spent to walk through their doors. When we got to the tour of their interior, it consisted of standing in a big empty room (the "great hall") and hearing about how they built the floor to be squishy with foam (or something like that) under the wood and what sounded like a mini sales pitch for renting the space & where the DJ/music could go in the space above the main floor. We then were brought to the "library" (LOL) which was a hallway with a loveseat and coffee table with a total of maybe 6-8 books, which was roped off...at least that little space had some air conditioning we could enjoy. The whole experience was just weird & boring and we couldn't wait to leave. Then as we are exiting & about to get on the bus back to our cars, the "founder" Bob (who we hadn't seen or spoken to at all while there) came out of nowhere and took it upon himself to grab my bride-to-be cousin, dip her (like you would when dancing so she was practically horizontal in his arms), and plant a wet (unwelcomed) kiss on her cheek. Apparently he "does this with all his brides." We threw some hand-sanitizer on her face and got...
Read moreYou can look at previous reviews by going lowest to highest to see this behavior is not new even though their reply doesn’t address it. I wrote this review because other young ladies have voiced poor experiences, being creeped on, and being uncomfortable there. My review is coming from CastleFaire back at the beginning of this year. I filed a report. I have also tried to put this behind me however I’ve had several young ladies mention similar things or say how uneasy and uncomfortable they were here. As a local guide here, I can no longer be quiet or keep my experience to myself. Since so many people ask me about this Castle, I do not support this place and I will not attend an event here. The owner, Bob, placed his hands inappropriately on me while I was dressed as a mermaid for an event at the castle. I was volunteering as a mermaid. He came up while I was sitting on a wall, (my helper went to go get something to wheel me back) wrapped his arm around my waist and proceeded to feel up and down my body while calling me pet names. I was mortified and frozen as little kids were saying “hiii mermaid.” His wife and daughter are aware of Bob’s extreme inappropriate behavior. They continue to hide, dismiss and give excuses for his behavior. If you feel uneasy, Feel uncomfortable or feel like you are being watched, you probably are. If you are a young lady, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. Those young ladies that have experienced this or worse, I am so sorry, I believe you and my dms are open. Love always, your...
