Audelia Road Branch Library — Attraction in Dallas

I came in notice the hours it was around 4:25-4:30 immediately the lady at the desk seen I was having issue with doing the reservation. But had stood there just watching me as if a black man didn’t belong or I was going to steal something (when there are only books there) I went around by this time a lady was checking out a lot of books no a problem. I waited when she was done I then approached the desk and let her know I was having issues with reserving a computer. After 2-3 tries she said it would not let her so a reservation for me. Didn’t hear her so I asked again she said at a tone as if I was annoying her. I began to walk away and a lady in the middle desk of the library told me where one was open until 8 I turned around and the lady who at this point showed her disdain for blacks rolled her eyes. Instead of creating a scene I left! Won’t visit here anymore no worth it just put a “WHITES ONLY” sign so the next African- Americans will already know to...

The staff is VERY helpful and nice! I went in to do some research for my education class and the lady at the information desk went above and beyond to assist me. When she discovered that that branch didn’t have the books that I needed on hand, she helped me find additional resources on the internet. I also didn’t bring a flash drive with me to save my documents and I was able to borrow one to save my documents and email to myself. I did all this without a library card (I’m not a Dallas County resident). The lady at the information desk also informed me of the TexShare program that allows patrons to borrow books from different libraries across the metroplex including local colleges and universities! I was able to complete my assignment and turn it in online in less than two hours thanks to the wonderful people at...

This library is less than a mile from where i live and i have used it for the past 2 years.It can be very noisy, kids running around everywhere , people speaking on their phones and it is also a battle to get a seat that is near a plug if you bring your laptop.There is no private study rooms that you can use and the restrooms(Mens) is always out of order.One of the reasons i stopped using this library because there is a lot of homeless people as well as other patrons who come with huge bags and take up the study space just to take a nap.I would not recommend this library to anyone who is serious about their studies.A lot can be improved as it used to be...
