L.B. Houston Nature Trails - California Crossing Trailhead — Attraction in Dallas

This was such a nice surprise for me. I would see it more as a bike trail, at certain times the trail is too curvy back and forth, but there are passes to make it shorter. Trail is very long for walking and spreads through the woods, loop back to parking next to lake. This could be a nice nature area for North Texas however it is not well-maintained, and the trails are littered with trash, primarily because of their proximity to the water. This area floods easily, so the trash flows to this area and seems to bottleneck. However still see a lot of people fishing, and walking the trails. I am not sure that you could still bike...

There's lots of snakes and wasps and standing water due to the trinity river in this area and they are not shy. please be careful when deciding to visit this nature trail it's not for beginners or children as there are a lot of fallen trees and natural hazards.
