$35 for non-residents! 😱 TINY beach so no space from screaming, splashing kids. Good spot for families if you are a resident but very not worth the price for non-residents. There is a floating dock but for some reason it's on the beach and not in the water. Another area next to that is blocked off with black plastic. Looks trashy. So not as pretty as other pics suggest. Four lifeguards on duty even though only one is needed, so I guess nervous parents will feel good here. Explains the price to get in. There is sand, but once you get to the water it is all rocks, so bring water shoes. There is a hose for speaking off and bathrooms with changing rooms on the back side of the snack bar. Cold water only. There are also port-o-potties, and even though they are a good distance from the beach, you can still catch a whiff of them. Boat entry point right next to the beach. Tons of jetskis and motorboats on the lake and cars and motorcycles driving by on the street right next to the beach making it super noisy. There is a snack bar, but it literally took all my cash to get into this lousy place, so I can't get anything for myself nor review it for you. Picnic tables, benches, a volleyball net, and green space for playing outdoor sports. LOTS of Canadian geese, but they are staying away from the beach area. Yes, the mounding hills around the lake makes it look pretty, but there is zero serenity here. Super...
Read moreDanbury town park. Beautiful view of the lake. (Hatters Park is just down the road next to Duck Pin bowling alley) Must pay to enter during the summer season but off season the main gate is usually left open. It has a nice play area for kids and big kids. The equipment isn't very suitable for small children. The park itself is completely fenced in with 3 entrances. The main entrance is at the crosswalk and parking is in the P.A.L. building lot directly across the street. For boaters there is a boat launch to the right and a dirt lot directly across the street. There is a concessions stand with bathrooms but it seems to rarely be open. Geese visit every year so please watch your step and try to keep toddlers from picking up the feces. For more information please visit the...
Read moreIn the summertime the geese over take the grass area with poop, it’s hard to find an area where you can just sit and relax or play without worrying where you are stepping. In regards to coming yo the lake— the hours are pretty absurd. They charge a pretty high price and their hours are never consistent or then last summer they were only open on certain days but for a few hours in the afternoon, and they close the park early as well. They do have a beautiful playground area for the kids but it’s ridiculous that you’re paying for the day pass to go into the playground area with your kids. In the wintertime they close everything down and fence everything so you can’t get in. Now it’s open back up and for a short period of time you can enjoy it before they start...
