Lakeside Pub — Restaurant in Danbury

I came here a while ago with a friend. The food was average at best but the way in which this place operates is not my cup of tea. This place holds onto peoples cards if they decide to eat outside. They said they do this because they have had a lot of walkouts with people leaving without paying. I understand that and I understand that some restaurants, bars, and pubs do this. However, I am not a fan of places that do this regardless of what their reasoning is. I personally don’t feel comfortable with giving my card to an establishment to hold onto for the entire outing until paying. The service was bad because I dined outside and I had to go inside to the waiter to ask for food and drinks when it wasn’t even crowded. It is the waiters job to come to the customer not the other way around. When asking for food the waiter said they’re not cooking half of the menu despite giving me a menu with food they won’t be cooking. Just not the type of service or atmosphere I would ever go back to. I’m sorry but this is not good...

Went there last night, used to go there with my friend Matt who passed away, wanted to celebrate his memory. However, I stood at the bar with my money raised in my hand. But this rather brutish bartender chose to completely ignore me and instead wait on the men in the bar, fearing I guess, that women don't give a good tip. She was dead wrong!! I drink top shelf liquor and tip well!!! This place has changed dramatically, different crowd, hip hop so loud I was relieved to flee!!!...

Great place to have a good time with friends and/or family. The food is awesome - Philly Cheese Steak and Caesar Chicken Wrap are my favorites. The bartenders and the customers are all very friendly and nice people. And if you sit outside you get a nice view of Candlewood Lake, bonus if you go...
