If your not a resident or a neighboring town, you will be paying $22 per person and $15 per child over 2 yrs old. Honestly this park is not that great to pay all this money if your out of town just visiting. Its not crowded and kept pretty clean, good grounds and a small kids play area. Parking lot across the way (free).... But I will not be visiting ever again. No one wants to pay too much for so little to do let's not mentioned all their crazy rules for bathing. You are only allowed to wear swim gear, cannot go in with just your underwear (mostly men) or regular shorts that are not basketball or swim. No playing or any kind while in the water, not even giving your own child a back ride! How awful!!! Lifeguards are nasty when letting the guest know the rules with a bullhorn. The beach area is small, they had the other 2 sections closed off, I mean if your going to charge out of towners all this money please open all areas! They are right next to each other. If your live in town or neighboring towns, worth it as they only pay...
Read moreThe park is nasty, not kept, has goose droppings everywhere, and the staff is rude and nasty. I actually had a staff tell me He had to lock the gate because I was there after five and me and my son needed to leave the area even though I’m a Danbury resident. For the asinine amount of money they’re charging even residents to use their area you would think that they would clean it. And on top of it all they charge us to use the playground that is practically falling apart with graffiti and trash rolling around like tumbleweeds in the old west. What the heck is going on with this town.?? Avoid this park at all cost! There should be a hazard waste dump there. Other towns do not even charge town residents money to use their town park but our mayor in his infinite wisdom wants to charge even residence. Normally I wouldn’t even care if they actually cleaned the park or had a staff that was friendly but they do not so I do care. I will be traveling to Brookfield and Newtown this summer to use their parks for...
Read moreOverpriced admission. Bathroom closed. Nice view and comfortable water, but the bizarre rules that appear to be selectively enforced made this a surreal and unpleasant experience. Life jackets are not allowed... even for children that don’t know how to swim. We witnessed a 4 year old child almost drown about 20 feet from a lifeguard stand and get rescued by her mother. The lifeguards were busy, however, taking turns shouting at people that were not wearing “proper swim attire” to get out of the water, but this rule was clearly being applied selectively to Hispanic families while a number of white patrons happily swam and frolicked in non-conforming clothes. The Park Director was confronted by another patron about this, but was indignant. Struck me as overtly racist. Maybe I missed the “Trump” logo at...
