Party Depot — Attraction in Danbury

Went to this store today to get PRIDE decorations. For I had through party depot supported the LGBTQIA+. However I was severely mistaken. Walked in asked a woman who was blowing up balloons if they had a pride section, like the other sections for graduation, birthdays, baby showers etc….. considering it’s pride month. She said NO! With no further assistance just a plain rude no. Which I understood as to be hateful and not wanted in that store. A young girl heard this interaction and jumped in and told me in the back left there was a pride section. So I go there…… it wasn’t pride. Nothing said pride. It was a variety of poorly put together rainbow things that was better suited for a baby shower rather then a pride celebration. No flags, plates, cups, I mean NOTHING that says your company supports the LGBTQIA+ community. I asked another worker for rainbow plates for pride and was directed to “ happy birthday “ on rainbow plates. Clearly we see where your store stands. Not with everyone and not with equality for all. I try my hardest to not shop cooperate but you make it easy not accepting everyone. Also being that your so close to Bethel one of the gay havens in CT....

Although this store has plenty of party supplies, their return policy is horrible. The receipt does say that seasonal items are not returnable. That is fine, however NOTHING is returnable. I overbought party goods and tried to return them. They refused to take them. The items were children party pails that were sold individually. I was told only packaged items were returnable. I explained that the were sold individually so why can’t they be returned individually. I also tried to return unopened bags chocolate used fro melting and sprinkles in a sealed jar. they refused to take that saying they don’t back food stuff. They point to a sign hanging at least 10 feet above the cash register hidden behind inflated balloons listing what was return able. Low and behold...nothing is returnable. When I said that to the manager her response was there’s a sign. Never again will I purchase anything from Party Depot. Especially the store in Danbury. Not very nice manager. Back in October 2024 we had shopped at Party Depot for our daughter’s birthday party. There wasn’t enough time to get the garland made, but we got a good impression of the store, so we kept them in mind for future special occasions. At this time, we requested a quote for a 7’ balloon garland for our sons birthday and we we’re given a price of $150. Fast forward to December, when we spoke with the manager, Milo, over the phone, we were told another price but that if we brought our balloons in, he would see what he could do. So we packed up the family and drove down to Danbury from New Milford. When we got to the store he said that the price was $210. We reiterated that the price we were told was $150. And I asked to speak with his supervisor. He refused. We will not be back to Party Depot for future...
