Yes I highly recommend Dan Daniels memorial Park the number one reason is because my wife and I have a great grandbaby and we like to use shelter number 17 cuz it's very close to the restrooms and it's kind of hard for both of us to walk long distances. And it is only $50 a day and if you clean up like a normal human being you get your $50 back you can't beat that in the park has a baseball stadium a skateboard and it has a whole playground for children it has a walk around for people that likes to walk a lot if you have never been I suggest you come on down 😁 we love EVERYONE heck our STATE SIGN SAYS "VIRGINIA IS FOR LOVERS"

This is a fun playground. It's big, it has 2 sections separated by a climable rock wall, one section is for the little kids, easier to maneuver and lower to the ground. The other is for the bigger kids, most of the pics I've posted are from the big kids side. During school hours it's not busy and your little ones get a chance to really explore without getting bowled over by excited bigger kids. They have a few sensory pieces here, but Ballou Park playground is much better for that sort of thing. All the sports field surround this playground. There is parking on both sides of the playground.

Spur of the moment decision to attend an Otterbots game. Got there about 45 minutes early and parking was already more than half full. Park was nice. Seats do not have much legroom. Entertainment was good during the game. Food choices were pretty good for a smaller venue. Scotter Dog was nice, fries were a little heavy on the spices. Noticed they had "runners" available who would go get food orders for you - at least for the reserved seating. Definitely a good value for a fun night out.

I really enjoy this park. My family and friends have spent time grilling and picnicking in the park. We have also gone on walks and long bike rides with different skill and distance options. The scenery is very nice and relaxing. You can really lose yourself in thought and reflection in it's beauty. Sometimes, we packed a backpack with lunch and rode a little further in and had nice picnics surrounded by nature. The trails are paved, unless you take one of the bike trails through the woods. Just make sure that if you go onto one of the trails through the woods that you can handle some thin trails, sometimes the width of your tire! It really is a lot of fun. There is an area with a park for kids to play on with lots of fun ways to run around, rock climb (it's small but works for the kids), or have play dates. If you enjoy fishing you can fish in the river, just be careful because it does have a strong current. There is also an area for the older kids to ride skateboards or bikes that includes ramps and other things for them to enjoy. I do wish that there were more picnic tables throughout the park, and maybe a few more grills with pavilions large enough for bigger groups. Overall, it is a nice place to enjoy. It is a great place for taking pictures as well. The only thing that it lacks for me is a...

This place is a local utopia of various types of exercise and fun things to do theres a public baseball, football, and soccer feild, an excellently paved walking/biking trail with a bike rental hub and an awesome little playground plus it's all next to a river so you can also stop and fish for a spell if you're a fisherman. Theres a cool war memorial and two shelters with grills and picnic tables for having family gatherings or outdoor meetings of any kind, so, in short this place is an exceptional public park for recreational goodtimes, I take my family to this location quite often. Another big plus is theres a skateboard park with funboxes quarter pipes and cool rails to grind so local skateboarders can hone their skills. Definitely stop if you're travel through the area and need a bathroom break, some fresh air and some extensive leg stretching. Definitely a five star location...

Trail is beautiful. Parking is close. Play ground is very entertaining for the kids because there's quite a few things for them to play on and with. I took away a star for two reasons. First, there is a lack of seating at the playground. There's only one small covered table. It was almost always occupied. Secondly, the drink machines need to be stocked more often and they need to stop taking money and not dispensing a drink. *As a side note, I want to make people aware that the river stinks. I had no idea until mybfirst visit. It's not the parks fault, and it is tolerable when you're walking the trail, which is the only time you will smell it. Oh, and the mosquitos are terrible. Use tons of...
