This is a very nice pier looking out onto the beautiful Mobile Bay. The area is nice and clean, and the maintenance/landscaping is done well.

The actual pier goes a decent way into the water, and there's two smaller "sub-piers" that are lower to the water than the main area. There's also a robust kayak launch attached with handicap assistance mechanisms to help you into your vessel.

Fishing in the area has its ups and downs. If you're hitting the bottom, be prepared to catch hard-headed catfish with the occasional decent sized gafftopsail catfish. I'd recommend using live bait off of the bottom. Speaking of, the bottom is sandy and free of obstructions that would hang your line up.

I went last weekend, and 3 bull redfish were hooked up on live croakers. I also caught a small Spanish mackerel.

The shoreline has plenty of live shrimp swimming on the surface, and there's blue crabs in the area.

Overall, it's a really nice spot to just sit back, throw a pole...

Me and my wife took the kids down to Daphne Alabama. We initially took him down to that area to celebrate my son's 12th birthday. We didn't want to take the kids to the main beaches because of the whole pandemic episode. So we found May day park. Which was a little quiet little Shoreline with some ocean water that the kids can have fun they had a nice little Boardwalk would you can walk on and see some of the Waters of the Gulf Shores. Even though it wasn't a typical big beach we all enjoyed our time there. The only plus about that little area was that you can maintain social distance in because it was a minimum of ten to twelve people on that little Shoreline Beach area when...

This park is pure heaven. The sunsets are magnificent. Plenty of families here fishing with young kids. Very peaceful serene place. You will be grateful you spent time here. I know I am. This whole park is true Magick. It has trees, water, swings, playground, clean restrooms, the smell of fresh cut wood. Thank you May Day Park for a magnificent evening. I am extremely grateful. Thank you to the people that keep this park so clean and beautiful. Your upkeep is greatly appreciated. There is a boat launch too.
