Being the Gulf, we were expecting the waters to be blue/green but it wasn't. Don't know if it was due to the rain and the wash from the bay. Also, the numerous oil rigs in the distance were definitely an eye sore. Having said that, the island was secluded and not commercial which was amazing. The houses on stilts were beautiful and the proximity to the water was stunning. The ocean literally runs under your home during high tide. I've never stayed in a house in the US that was unique in this way. The sound of the waves and the ocean all through the day and crisp during the night was very soothing. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO DAUPHIN ISLAND. I will not be going back after this horrible experience that...

Each has a little different type of charm for each species so do your research. But you are sure to catch quite a few fish, if you just hold your mouth right!! Hope to see...
