I've never been to a park in Davis that isn't well maintained, so bar is pretty high. I must have spent around 100 hours overall at this park bc community Park hosts most soccer games of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) that my kids play on. It's a nice park. It has a skate park, tons of field, new playground... if anything it's too big. Play areas and all of skate park have shade, which can matter a lot here. Most of the playing fields have nice goals, decent turf, and are well-marked... but have zero shade, and bc there's a berm on one end of the park and a hill on the other, little breeze comes in and players on the field can bake in the sun. No fault of the park obviously, but lack of shade is really noticeable when it's 110 or something in Davis. The public restrooms are a little gross compared to others in town, and can be a 5-10 min walk to get to for a younger kid on short legs, because it's so spread out. For that and the other reasons mentioned, giving this one four, not five stars.

We take a lot of our Instagram pictures here! One of the largest parks in Davis! Also very conveniently located near downtown. Plenty of playgrounds and open space makes for an ideal place to take a break or have a nice picnic when the weather is nice. We love the celebrate Davis event that occurs here! Plenty of vendors and things to do for all ages. Worth checking off the list if you’re a park enthusiast!

Wow! This playground is definitely a must. A lot to do for all ages. There’s a couple of diffferent playgrounds if you take a walk around the park you’ll See them. They even have a skate park which is pretty neat. There’s also restrooms which is ALWAYS a plus. Great for picnics and playing ball. I saw some people playing ball with their dogs. Very clean and spacious park, will definitely be back.

Skateboarding has taken a backseat to many parks projects. its time for a new skatepark. Currently the park is run down and out of date. There is a location across town at the overpass by sudwork. The city owns the property. They could hire a company to build a park.

In this climate people need protection from sun exposure during most of the year. And if it ever rains we will need dry concrete to skate. Skating is like going to the gym and drawing art at the same time. Its hard to do both in 100 degree heat In direct sun.

Again the current skatepark is such an afterthought that an hour before the lights are shut off the sprinklers come on to dump water the mega-field of an invasive species grass adjacent to the park. Not only does davis spend $$$ on their stupid fields. Half of the water happens to land directly on the concrete of davis comunity skatepark... how nice

the overpass could provide for the comunity in more ways than zero

Davis city council must be made aware of the growth in the local...

Nice park, good variety of obstacles and different types of playgrounds structures. The main problems I have with this park is that (1) it has no shade, so it gets very hot, (2) there are hardly any benches for parents, and the benches they do have don't point in the direction where the kids are playing, and (3) the bathroom is really far away and really old and gross. If you have one child that needs to go to the bathroom and another that is playing, you would not feel comfortable leaving one in the park because you would not be able to see them from the bathroom. Or if your child just started potty training, they probably would not be able to hold it long enough to get to...
