Michigan Escape Games — Attraction in Davison Township

Wow. I would like to start off by saying anyone who thinks this place is a cheap escape room, you are DEAD WRONG. That was our thoughts but wer proved wrong almost instantly. This isn’t some easy escape room for children. This place is the real deal, and any one wanting a genuine escape room experience truly needs to check this place out. Beyond impressed. And this was before we spoke with the owner!! We did the mission impossible room. One of the rooms doable with two people! Did not finish the room and it was challenging but never felt like a chor, very well thought out, perfectly executed and I promise it’ll blow your mind the time put into this stuff. Hidden rooms, wonderful puzzles. It’s an escape room, everything you would expect and more! On the way out we were stopped by Royce the owner. He took the time out of his day to give us a tour of the other rooms, doing a wonderful job sharing the history and mechanics of some of the rooms. What a wonderful guy to chat with. He pours his intelligence and tons of pride into this place and the escape rooms truly show this. He even gave us a sneak peak of the upcoming bank room and let me say the concept and execution of this upcoming room will probably become top ten in the country. Overall just a genuine guy who takes pride in what he does and was grateful for the time he took to give us a tour. This is not a paid review, I don’t even review things. Just the experience of the room, the polite staff member Taylor, and the owner Royce’s demeanor and enthusiasm to this business has exceeded my expectations and I feel not leaving a review would almost be an insult after the hospitality we just recieved. Currently messaging friends and family to attempt to tackle the larger Escape Rooms because I am extremely impressed and excited to get to know this place and the rooms it has to offer! Went to the mission impossible escape room although the room was creative and nice our experience was not. We got in the room we were about 30 minutes in and we got stuck on a puzzle with switches. So we asked for a clue we waited about two minutes no clue was given so we asked again waited another two minutes asked for another clue then about a minute after we finally got our clue wasting five minutes of our time just waiting. Then once we got to the part where you have to operate a crank we started cranking then the game master came into the room and stopped us because apparently the room was not reset correctly from the previous escape. So the game master spent about three minutes resetting the crank while we stood around and waited this wouldn't have been an issue but we weren't given any extra time for there mistake. Another issue I had was with the room you are given a code and flip switches which causes lights on a panel to illuminate revealing letters. My issue with this was that the lights do not look remotely close to the letters they are supposed to be so we sat there confused rechecking the code making sure we did it right for about 5 minutes until we asked for a hint. The hint we were given was to flip the switches to get the correct light code which we were already doing correctly so we messed with it a bit more then asked for another hint which then pointed us to look at the lights as letters. We weren't able to escape the room just due to the game master either not paying attention or just giving not enough hints and at the end we weren't even shown what we had left to do which would have made the experience more enjoyable despite not being able to make it out. I had a great time, we had a group of 6 doing the bar noir murder room and it was really cool and pretty difficult, but the guy who put us I the room said he probably wasn't going to be the one to get us out probably because of a shift change but while we were in there it felt like no one was watching us for like 30 minutes of the 1 hour we had because we kept asking for hints to the camera like they told us to do and nothing happened and we were trying to press these buttons that were supposed to be pressed at the same time (which is what we were doing) and nothing was happening, which they are supposed to have somebody watching us with a control panel so when you do things they are supposed to activate it and it will unlock it, but finally we asked for a hint again after getting no response and trying everything then the hint said have you guys noticed any buttons under the cabinets and we were like yesssss! We already did that 100 times and then finally we did it again and they opened what they were supposed to because someone was finally watching us. Then our time ran out and a girl walked in and told us we were only like 3 steps away from successfully getting out and we were all kind of upset because we would have been able to do it had they been prompt with watching us and controlling their side. & normally I'd be totally understanding if they were understaffed or busy but we were the only group there and there was 3...
