Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater — Attraction in Decatur

Great experience. Especially the help of the golf cart rides (we brought chairs) to and from the dome All of the attendants were very cool. Nice people.The lawn tickets were perfect and cheaper. Could see the stage and hear the music better than if we had been in the assigned (very small seats) or directly behind those in the "two row" green strip section. Not allowed to stand up (dance, rock out) in those sections either Buffet did an exceptional job with the bldg & designing of this outdoor music arena. The bathrooms were decent as well. Clean (in the beginning lol) IMHO the only complaint is the beer stand employees. When they can clearly see someone is well on their way or already "hammered" they need to cut those who overindulge off. The hot sun doesn't help that situation and actually exacerbates it. Too many "goers" were way past the "cut off" point. Just sloppy drunk. One woman was being "held up" by her BF and actually tossed her cookies right next to us. Very gross. There were impressionable teens there who were having a great time and then here was "the highly intoxicated individual" putting a cramp in everyones fun. She should have been put out at that point. Over serving is unacceptable. Security definitely should have noticed that she needed to be escorted out. Have a couple beers etc and be cool. Don't get annihilated and not only ruin your experience and put a hurting on yourself the following day but consider others that are "forced" to deal with the incoherent slobbering nonsense alongside you. She wasn't the only one. There were way too many who had overindulged. It also made me think about how they were getting home afterwards. Praying they weren't driving. If you have an opportunity to go to this, run, don't walk! Although I did not have paid parking, they made it easy for us to park and they had a shuttle for us to get to the gate. The line looked daunting when we got there, however, it was well organized and quick. They organized who went into the lawn and one line and everybody else in the others. The only minor issue was that the main toilets had long lines. But they had other toilets to try to compensate for this. The food trucks were outstanding, not overpriced, and quick. There was ample time to get to your seat, to get your merch, to get your food, and relax before the show. After the show, it was also easy to leave. I did walk back up the hill instead of taking the shuttle. The sound quality at this venue was superb. We sat in the pit, or rather stood because they let us, and it was amazing. Amazing. It wasn't distorted, it was clear. The staff was all so friendly, knowledgeable, and just outstanding. We drove almost 3 hours for our concert and we're not...

Loved this venue. Sat in the "Terrace" section where you used your own chairs, and I thot the view was pretty good. Orchestra pit was standing room only, then a seated section (which were sold out by the time I found out about the concert! Then the Terrace section, which were concrete slabs with artificial grass, then a huge lawn section at the top. You were allowed to bring blankets & chairs ... Tix were very reasonable! Of course U can tell by the name that it sits by a lake, so it makes for a great backdrop for the stage. It helped that I thoroughly enjoyed the musical artists "Get the Led Out," a Led Zeppelin tribute band that rocked the house! It seems they have a great lineup of guests appearing there, so check it out, you might get to have an ultimate experience at the Devon Lakeshore...
