Waterfront Cafe — Restaurant in Decatur

Do not waste your time or money. I placed an online order after which I was called by the business and told they didn’t have that food on the menu today and they were refunding my money. After waiting an hour to get my money refunded, I called to ask where my refund was only to be told They were busy and they would refund my funds “when we’re ready to”. So I go there to get my money, because my family is in need of dinner after experiencing a family emergency, there were no customers around. I was aKai accused of being drunk by management , if I could submit the screenshots of them taking my money and then placing a HOLD on my card after telling me they refunded it, I would.

I also deliver for Doordaah & have had similar issues in the past with them fulfilling those orders as well. I’ve heard the owner curse & yell about how he refuses ANY online orders, yet they have online ordering available?

I will be reporting them to the federal trade commission and to the Better Business Bureau for false advertisement and theft of goods.

This is the unfortunate character the owner has become. Terrible former landlord made into a terrible business owner, that’s Decatur for you.

Update to last review: next day, my credit card company has contacted me & let me know that Waterfront Cafe has STILL not refunded my money or released the hold on my card. In the event my money or the hold on my card is not reversed, I will be contacting my attorney Monday morning & starting a civil lawsuit. If you have a business & can’t provide the appropriate services please don’t be disgruntle & take it out on the customers because you or your business for whatever reasons don’t or cannot adequately provide the services you advertise. Last & final update: we are now 3 days into this & my money has STILL NOT been refunded for an order we never received. Going to start as if someone asked my opinion. I’d recommend making it a bit more small child/toddler friendly such as boosters/high chairs. But thats it. They appear to have done the best they could with what they have without making the food crazy expensive. With renovations comes high costs. However, The rest was amazing. Staff was pleasant. Bathrooms were acceptable. Prices are crazy low in comparison not sure how they make a profit. Not sure what others are complaining about. If i cooked the items myself at home it wouldn’t be within a five minute span. Definitely not McDonald’s and idk why anyone would expect it to be. I assume they dont cook and can’t gauge the time it takes to cook a meal. The food was prepared in a reasonable and to be expected time frame. And tasted great. Looked fabulous. Not only do they have AMAZING food, we always have a blast when we come here. The staff here treats you like family and always ensures you feel welcomed and enjoy your time and food. Had a great conversation with Linda and enjoyed hearing about her wonderful experiences that she encounters when her and her father come in to enjoy the food and hospitality.
