We go to the fort every year after the parade of lights in Delta. I enjoy the past and how it efects us in the future. It is more of what we think of Christmas to us. Christmas Caroling and the lighting of the candles on the tree. How we used bartering to buy the items we need. And the use of the spinning wheel. And the stories of the past and a visit from Santa Clause. We

Wonderful insight into early western life at this recreated 1828 trading post. Also history lessons on Spanish, Ute, American and French influences that continue. The lady who was there was very informative, and as an archeologist expert in the region gave added depth to the not just this forts importance but the overall region and developments of the last 400 years.

We were the only two there this morning. It was very interesting. So much history. The woman was knowledgeable and friendly, & there is a wonderful cat there to welcome you. I think he was my favorite 🤭.

This is the WORST experience I have ever encountered on a field trip and I am beyond disappointed it was at this historic site that I myself went to as a child and remembered fondly. The guides (specifically the man) were beyond rude to our group. Our school of 4th graders came to learn about the cool history that Ft. Uncompaghre offers. These kids were respectful, polite, and eager to see all the cool things that had been promised. Our school pushes "Respect and effort" everyday. They were told by the guide not to raise their hand to answer a question unless they actually knew the answer. They were chastised if they answered a question incorrectly, or asked a "silly" question. We are capable of understanding and respecting rules, but on this day, I can confidently say these rules weren't discussed in a manner other than rudely and abruptly. It was super sad to see the kids didn't have much to say about what they learned, but about how mean and rude the guides were. I have never left a negative review, but thought others should know about what a disgrace...

Absolute worst experience. These people should not be around kids. We had a school group there and none of the kids had fun or learned anything because they were too busy being yelled at for pretty much breathing. The lady smacked a kid for moving, constantly was telling kids not to shuffle their feet, told a pregnant lady she was only allowed to drink water when she said she could. The adults were told we could take pictures but when an elderly lady did, she got told to put it away and if it became a problem that she wasn’t allowed to have her phone out anymore. I looked at my phone at one point and got stared down for 10 seconds. These people should be ashamed of themselves and not allowed around other humans if they can’t manage their behavior. Do better...

We really liked this museum. The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. My small children enjoyed getting to run around looking at the buildings (we were the only ones there). The posted information was very informative. There's a turkey the kids can see close up. Facilities are only a porta-potty. Know that Google's address is wrong. It's 440 NORTH Palmer St. Leaving out the North takes you to the...
