Circuit Training Class at Cook Park Rec Center: The current instructor is excellent. She is doing her best to lead and explain the exercise program to those who want to learn. She's a contractor and NOT a disgruntled city employee. The class and facility itself however is dirty, noisy and crowded.
This is a great low cost alternative to the more expensive private fitness facilities in Denver but there are some major disadvantages: The machines and building are rarely cleaned and/or maintained as in a private sector facility. Some attendees think nothing of jabbering in loud voices with each other during the sessions about their personal lives. This is annoying and makes it hard to hear the instructor with all the competing noise. The class is limited to 30 participants - probably 10 too many for a reasonable class experience in this relatively small and crowded room.
It would be a lot better if the City could afford to have 2 sections of this class in consecutive time slots. One for those who enjoy the social aspects of the class and one for those who would prefer just a good workout and learning experience. The city doesn't offer any suggestion box or other means of...
Read moreI recently visited Cook Park Recreational Center and I have to say that it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the facilities were top-notch. The fitness equipment was all brand new and very well-maintained, making my workout both enjoyable and effective. The pool was crystal clear and inviting, and the locker rooms were clean and well-stocked with amenities.
In addition to the great facilities, Cook Park Recreational Center offers a wide range of classes and programs that cater to all interests and skill levels. I particularly enjoyed the yoga class, which was taught by a knowledgeable and encouraging instructor who made the practice accessible to everyone.
Overall, I would highly recommend Cook Park Recreational Center to anyone looking for a top-notch recreational center that offers something for everyone. Whether you are a fitness enthusiast, a swimmer, or simply looking for a fun and welcoming place to relax and unwind, Cook Park Recreational Center is the perfect...
Read morePretty decent park for toddler's. Not the newest playground, but decent. We like that a sidewalk goes all the way around the actual play area, this works great for wheelchair dad's watching kiddos play! Lots of trees for shade picnics in the grass and plenty of grass area and field to play in. Parking is easy with sidewalks from side street parking to play area, again great for wheelchair (or stroller) access! Overall a decent park, the play area is all sand and purely in the sun, so...
