Derby Village Store & LaundroMat — Attraction in Derby

Employees are very nice, friendly & helpful. Nice fresh produce & meat/seafood selections. Excellent baked goods (pies, cookies, breads, treats, etc.). Great deli, excellent service, with good fresh pre-made sandwiches & salads (garden, potato, bean, pasta salads, etc.) ready to go, whole baked chickens & other pre-made warm food (dinners, mashed potatoes, etc.) ready to go, will personalize and make any size meat package you want and even cut it up for you (eg., diced). Often too crowded though, with very narrow aisles (makes me anxious, but maybe not others). Will give you rolled quarters for laundromat (hard to find these days). Vermont Liquor Store inside, plus beer & wine. Don't go just before closing if you don't want to dodge the floor cleaning, lol. Wonderful market......

This is a great store -- somewhere between a general store and a tiny supermarket. Their meat is excellent -- their steak Florentine is an elegant and quick to cook meal, and is absolutely lovely in presentation. It's flavorful as well. Their selection is limited by their size, but one can, for example, buy fresh organic Canadian bib lettuce grown a few miles north, or find a home-baked pie at a bargain. The service is gracious and the staff always has a friendly word. I will often bypass the larger stores when I shop in the area. I may spend a few dollars more than the big-box stores, but I'm happy to support a local business that...

I'm telling you right now if you want good meat Derby Village Store is got it they go around checking their meat every so many minutes make sure it's up in fresh they got good me all the way around there's no doubt about it steaks Hamburg you name it all that meet their Derby Village is it's good good meat that's why I buy my Delmonico's up there and sirloin even the cold meats Hamburg you name it they got it they'll cut it for you right there...
