The Farmyard Store & Newport Rental Center — Attraction in Derby

After an energy assessment with Heat Squad bought a Beautiful Vermont Casting Stove with installation. Both were supposed to be warrantied. Stove installation was a mess because they hadn't ordered the right parts so they had to reschedule a month later. The install was done over a few days. First rain it leaked. Called and they came back with some caulk. Was billed $200 for service call of coming back to fix an installation error. The handle fell off the stove within few uses, but will not even attempt to call for warranty service on that. Vermonters are being pushed to switch back to wood and pellet stoves to benefit anyone but the homeowners. Would have been much more economical for us to go to a box store or online to get a woodstove and choose our installers or DIY, but we wanted to get the rebate which cost us more in...

Rented a Rototiller, the tiller was rented and brought home, the tiller was severely under powered and would not work on previous tilled ground. The machine was brought back all in the same hour. Expecting a full refund I was told they would only give half my money back because “ the boys loaded it in my truck” actually I and 1 other young man loaded it. Apparently loading product you rented or purchased at Farm Yard Store comes with a $20 fee built into the cost. The staff was extremely rude and literally followed me out to my truck yelling at me because I refused to sign the paperwork for my “partial refund”. Newport Rental will get all of my future business. Very poor service. So much for supporting...

I had a stove installed through Efficiency Vermont. The Farmyard handled the sale and the install. They installed the chimney crooked and had to come out and straighten it. While there, I showed the tech how a baffle was warped. It is under warranty and was eligible for replacement. It is now October and I have tried to get a reply from the store and the owner, Troy. 10 phone calls that were not returned! I drove over an hour to the store and I was able to scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. They called to cancel today stating "We have the photos and need contact the manufacturer."
