Overall great park and a beautiful lake. I’ll break my review into categories. “Parking”- plenty of parking spots and lots at this park. I would suggest parking at the first lot to the left of main park direction sign because it’s the biggest. It’s a gravel parking lot. They do have a couple other smaller lots and even roadside parking. I’m impressed with the parking options compared with other dc area parks. “Bathrooms” - it was closed. Maybe due to covid or park policy not sure. Before sure you handle your business before venturing to this park. “Trails” - My friend and I did the main trail closest to the lake for the excellent water view. It was an easy hike on that is 90% dirt trail and the other is concrete/gravel. Plenty of space for people to go in both directions on the trails. “Activities/Other” - I saw a volleyball court, picnic tables, kayaking spot, huge grass field for anything and plenty of park benches to chill and take it all in. I would definitely recommend to go on a hike at this beautiful and peaceful work. It seems to be great for families, dog owners, and really anyone! I’ll be...
Read moreI love this park so much! It is family friendly, easy access, and appealing to almost anyone. If you would like to bike/ walk, the Rock Creek trail starts here and goes all the way to DC. If you want a family friendly stroll, the loop around the lake is about two miles. If boating is more up your alley, then the lake has two easily accessed put in points as well as a rental facility. The park easily balances the ease of access, convenient utilities, things to do, and feeling of getting away from your daily life. A wonderful place to relax that I frequent regularly and advise others to...
