Empire Cards — Attraction in Des Moines

Giving 2 star because the girl working was friendly but the prices here are… insane. I don’t usually get offended by pricing but this store was egregious. Most overpriced card store in town and it’s not even close. Do not waste your money here. The only way someone would buy at these prices is if they have no clue what prices actually are or where you can go for affordable stuff.

ETB destined rivals box was like $150 or more? I’m not even joking! I bought one this weekend for $65. Their individual packs of DR? $13 each… that speaks for itself. My teenage daughter is a Pokemon fan so we went over there to check it out. The staff were great, they greeted us and asked if we needed any help when we walked in, after saying we didn't need help they left us alone. That right there is GOLD! Lots of various collections, more than just Pokemon. Again, my daughter is the collector so this is what she had to say: prices were comparable to large retail outlets (Target, Walmart, etc.), they had sets from Japan and they had enough variety of sets and card packs to make her decisions on what to buy this time very difficult. A great experience I've gotten to know to the employees who are nothing but grand they're great at their job, and they're great personality. Wise one is named Leah. The other is Luke, kinda sort of like Star Wars, but not related and not at all. But that's not important. I digress, they keep the shop very nice, clean and it smells good, which is sometimes hard to find around the area. And everything is organized and in place, as it should be friendly service.
