I live in a different part of town, so I don't make it down often, but I've always tried to go at least twice a year: lasagne day, and Easter Pie day. They've got excellent products, the best sausage (it compares favorably to the stuff I used to get from my local Italian deli in New York City), an interesting selection. And I try to shop locally when I can. So I'm sorry to say that my last couple of trips haven't been great. It seemed like I was imposing on their time by bringing my family in to get some meat and cheese. Which was a shame, because this was the year I was going to teach my niece how to make my Great-Grandma Testa's Easter pie. Perhaps I've just been unlucky my past couple of trips; after all, everyone has off days. And they do have good products, especially the sausage. But I might buy it elsewhere...

What a find! The smells that hit you as you walk in are amazing! Just found out about Graziano's and made a trip down....all things Italian! We got there a bit late this time but we'll see you earlier next time...gotta get some of that Garlic and Sweet Sausage that you were out of today. Stop #2: Stopped in for our second visit on a very cold Saturday and the aroma was even better than I had previously mentioned! We got there early enough to score some Sweet and some Garlic sausage along with some more pizza crusts, meatballs, sauces, ravioli, and linguini. Looks like there'll be some remodeling going on in the near future....hope all goes smoothly! Great market and friendly staff! Stopped in again with a few of our friends the other week and they were as blown away as we were with the aroma and...

We live in Southern Iowa and will drive clear to Des Moines’s southside defined Italian groceries and have great grinders.

I have been eating from Graziano’s since I was a baby. I grew up in Des Moines and my mother was a great chef who cooked many Italian dishes. She got her recipes from the Italian women on the south side of town. And of course her grocery store was Graziano Brothers.

Today my husband and I also cook mini Italian dinners. We shop at Graziano’s for our groceries. The meats are a specially famous and beautifully done. But I also get spaces from Graziano’s. I find a little plastic bags let’s simply say Italian seasoning on the side. These make the best spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, sandwiches, lasagna you have ever tasted.

I think it’s already obvious we...

Graziano Brothers is a local, family-owned store that has been in business for longer than one hundred years. I thoroughly enjoy browsing at Graziano Brothers. Today, I stopped by for some ingredients because I'm making Chicago-Style Italian Beef sandwiches for dinner. They also sell sandwiches, and their sandwiches are delicious and make for the perfect lunch. I highly recommend their award-winning Graziano Brothers Italian Sausage which is some of the best sausage in the area. If you are looking to cook with authentic Italian foods, you need to come to Graziano Brothers. You won't be disappointed.

A staple of Des Moines, IA and the Italian-American community. Love walking in the door and smelling all the spices. Always reminds me of when I was young (mostly the same experience). Had to load up on the cold-cuts: pepperoni, dry salami, dry coppicola, soppresata (spicy) and a little pepper-jack cheese. LOL, and fortunately there was still some sliced bread and wandas left (late afternoon can be hit or miss). Only bad thing, the prices keep creeping up. However, it’s more of a treat for us, so not as bad to swallow.

This place has been around for awhile. They're pretty well known for their sandwiches which I learned from my Des Moines based family that visit here as a tradition. I haven't tried the sandwiches yet. I've gone there several times for their grocery store, as they have quality products imported from Italy and Graziano packaged foods. I typically shop for pastas and pasta sauces here. I like their frozen raviolis and they package and sell bulk olives at a price that's better than other area grocery stores.
