Iowa State Fair Grandstand — Attraction in Des Moines

For the first time going to the Iowa State Fair i was impressed, but I do have one complaint though, I walked around the fair for approximately 7 hours and sat for an hour concert and 10 to 15 mingainid and sn the various benches on the grounds and yet I went to my drs. apt. today it showed that I gained 5 lbs. in a week and the only thing I did different from the past few months is the fair . Well we all know about fair food but let me tell you what I had, a small root beer, 3 bites of root beer float, 3 state fair cookies , and a walking taco. That was more than usually eat in a average day, so I'm gonna have to say that I gained 5lbs. from walking about 6 miles and constantly smelling all the fair food. So I'm warning y'all about gainidng weight just from walking around and smelling the food. I had the greatest day in along time LOL😂😂😂😂 Thank you...

Brought my parents to the state fair to see the beach boys Tonight. Spent the day and had a great time. Then my dad's personal scooter broke down. I was all over until I found a couple sheriff's who were helpful with getting me two wonderful maintenance guys to help. Those guys helped us come up with a plan to not only get the scooter disassembled, but also get my truck to the gate, get myself and my parents to my truck at the gate to load it up. They helped load and everything. They then said their goal is to get us to the concert on time. We had about an hour from time they found my dad with the dead scooter. They did all that and got us to the concert ON TIME!!!. Huge shout out to those two wonderful maintenance guys. I truly cannot thank you enough. You are a blessing to us. Always a good time and lots to see. Shows at the grandstand were as good as any other venue. The concert the final day had an uninvited guest. A curious Raccoon was in the grandstand seating. Causing a bit of excitement. It's Iowa and must roll with the wild life! This year started off in a crazy fashion. While the grandstand stage was being set up. One of the crane operators decided to help wrangle a bull that had gotten loose. On his lunch break he thought he would help out, thing was that the Bull decide to fight back. The crane operator was gored by the unhappy animal. He got an unexpected trip to the emergency room. Again have to roll with...
