Toads Tavern — Restaurant in Des Moines

My neighborhood bar with great bartenders and nice people of all ages. They have 3 or 4 slot machines that you can play to win tickets to use towards your drinks or frozen pizza. They also have a pool table and an electronic dart board. Staff are all personable and knowledgeable about specialty shots and drinks. Great jukebox/ sound system with all different types of music to choose from. They have one of the best smoking areas--hands down!!. It's an area that has walls halfway up from the floor and the upper part is all screened in to ceiling. They have lots of booths, tables and chairs out there along with fans for summer and large heaters for winter. I'd say the only draw back is they don't have a kitchen. They serve frozen pizza and offer free popcorn. Drinks are reasonably priced and never will your drink lack the alcohol...

I left my card as a tab and when I went to cash out she claimed I couldn't use my called to pay and said I needed yo pull cash out of the ATM. I told her I wouldn't do that as I wasn't paying extra for cash. She yelled at me several times, told me I was stuflpid and then tried keeping my card. When my friend said he would buy another beer and pay the tab, she gave him a beer and kicked us out with the beer. As far as I know that is illegal to leave a bar with a full opened beer.
