I had an extremely disturbing experience at this Maxx Beauty Supply location on June 8, 2024.
My sister and I, along with our young children (both under 1 year old), walked into the store and were immediately put off by the behavior of the security guard at the entrance. This guard, a light-skinned man with green eyes, did not greet us but instead stared at us in an unwelcoming manner.
As soon as I walked into the store, the security alarm went off. Knowing I had nothing in my bag, I assumed it was a false alarm. Before I even reached the basket area, I noticed my sister had not followed me inside. When I turned back (carrying my baby), I encountered the guard shouting at me, "You need to go to the front and get your bag checked!" His tone was very aggressive and disrespectful, which was confusing as I had barely entered the store.
Attempting to avoid further confrontation, I said to my sister, "Let's just go," and started to leave the store. Despite this, the guard continued to yell, accusing me of potential theft and insisting my bag be checked. To clear my name, I allowed the front desk lady to check my bag. She found nothing and agreed that the guardâs behavior was unprofessional and uncalled for.
I then confronted the guard, stating, "You are very unprofessional. Youâre asking about my bag and you didnât even greet us when we walked in, nor helped us in the store. My sister and I both had small children with us." He rudely responded, "I donât have to say sh*t to yâall," and continued to argue and make disrespectful comments.
After leaving the store, another customer who had witnessed the incident approached us in the parking lot, remarking, "That was crazy. Yâall didnât even get in the store. Heâs still in there going off about the situation."
As a professional recruiter, I strongly advise this location to reconsider the employment of this security guard. His behavior is not only unprofessional and hostile but also damaging to the store's reputation. They can even run the camera back to show how unprofessional the security guard handled this situation. Such conduct will undoubtedly drive customers away.

When I attempted to look for one of the weeks myself I was chastised and scolded by a woman telling me not to touch anything, to ask for assistance. Why should the ONE customer ask for assistance from the MULTIPLE employees chatting amongst themselves.    Read moreOriginally the hours online stated they closed at 8. I got to the door at 7:31 to find out they actually close at 7:30 every day. One of the guys opened the door and kindly let me in to find what I needed. I'm sure I was an exception but if they're willing to unlock a door to help out a customer, and give them samples, they've got a customer for life! They didn't have a specific product I needed and the man behind the counter wrote down what I needed so he could order it for me for next time.
