We are repeat visitors to the Amish Country Theater and we must say that there has never been a disappointing show. The weekly shows are each different in their own way and always hilarious and family friendly. Audience interaction changes the show nightly. The magicians and ventriloquists that preform there are always entertaining and funny. We have been able to see a couple different ones through the years. A.C.T. always books the best of the best. We have also gone to a few tribute acts that have always been enjoyable. The most fantastic entertainment we have been to at A.C.T. has been the Land Cruise. We love them so much we just booked our 4th one. There are activities from the time you step in to the Encore hotel until you leave three days later. Every thing is included so you never have to leave the hotel unless you want to visit some of the great local shopping for tasty fresh sweets and breads that are great. I would encourage you to do that before or after your Cruise dates so you do not miss anything offered on the Cruise. Just like an Ocean cruise, all meals are included, and they have always been delicious, each meal is different. The enjoyment of booked entertainers, audience participation game shows, and trivia time will keep you busy morning to night. In fact will you will struggling to find time for a nap in your comfortable room at the Encore. The rooms have always been clean, nicely furnished and the beds are extremely comfortable. Folks at the Encore and also Amish Country Theater which are connected so you never have to go outdoors are each and every one friendly and helpful. I am positive you will not be disappointed with a stay at the Encore or maybe just stop by A.C.T. when in the area for show tickets to take in a show. They recognize and preform a very fitting tribute to the USA at the end of the show. Last but certainly not least it is our pleasure to tell you that you will laugh until you have tears at the man with the name of Lynyrd. He is one of a kind, and is a charming MC along with being the Star of the shows. We appreciate the constant value we feel we get each time we go there. Thank you Amish County...
Read moreUpon arriving at the ticket counter, I was asked my name to retrieve my pre-purchased tickets. I wasn’t sure if I had used my name or my mom’s, as I was having an issue with the website. I have also had Covid twice and have trouble remembering at 62. Anyway, I paused to think which name I put the tickets under and the man who was working later at the concession stand started making fun of me and laughing at my memory lapse. I struggle with not being able to remember. This man making fun of me was demeaning and embarrassed me greatly. Actually to the point that I wanted to just leave. The lady who was assisting me try to smooth it over, which was nice but I was too upset and started crying. My 83 year old mom and I sat down in the theater and while we waited for the show to start, I approached a lady ushering and asked to speak to a manager. She asked my why and I told her. No manager came to me and the show started. Of course, my evening was ruined and I couldn’t enjoy the show no matter how I tried. Finally, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to see the man who made fun of me. He said, I apologize, here’s a $5 coupon to use at the concession stand. At the intermission, I went to the stand to redeem my $5 coupon and it was that man…AGAIN! I grabbed a box of candy, put the coupon on the counter and went back into the theater. That was the worse experience I have ever had in the area. I should not have been made fun of. I should have had the opportunity to speak to a manager! I should not have had to face that man 2 more times…period! The staff needs to be trained to show respect for the guests! The manager needs to handle issues or have an assistant to handle them properly. My mom and I have been to many theaters and never had an experience like this one! As I’m planning our next trip to the area ( 2 times a year is when we visit), you can bet I will not go close to this complex! Shame on people who treat others with...
Read moreA must do if your spending a few days in Amish Country between Sugar Creek and Millersburg Ohio on SR 39. Wife and i head up for a week 2 times per year and stay in Walnut Creek which is perfectly in the middle of all of these towns. It allows us to be within 15 in either directions and 10 mins or so from this theater. The Amish Country Theater, in addition to there Comedy shows multiple times per week at 7:00 pm they offer a great special event each Wednesday that are sure to please. They have these special events posted on their website so if your in the area grab a ticket and check out the Wednesday special events. When we vacation we catch these Wednesday night shows with each trip in addtion to either a Tuesday or Thursday night comedy show. With our visit for 2 shows for the 2 of us its usually $ 140.00 bucks, but its well worth it. The Comedy shows are fun and interactive with the audience. You or a loved one have a chance to be on stage but only if you dare, and each show is recorded live with an option for purchase immediately following the show for you to take home. Lynard and Company, are so funny and the Beachy Boys songs are so fun, just be sure to watch the wording as they write the songs with new lyrics. The place offers a large comfortable Auditorium and a great but pricey snack bar. They usually have multiple performers signed on each season and during intermission and after the show they offer products for purchase. All performers are happy to have you join them for a photo. Dan handles the ticket booth and is so helpful when your making a ticket purchase. Additionally, it is the only place open after 7:00pm other than the Dairy Queen and Marathon... Enjoy a few of the photos from our...
