We booked a king suite room at the Berlin Encore Hotel and told them it was for our anniversary. When we arrived they had a surprise waiting for us in our room. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly. After our reservation was made they sent a text confirmation and included information on local places of interest and restaurants. They kept up communication through texts during our stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the hotel was very clean inside and out. A nice pond was out in the back of the hotel. Our room key cards were ready for us when we got there and the bill for our stay was placed under our room door the night before we left. All we had to do was return our key cards in a basket at the front desk on our way out. Everything was so well organized. We would see staff at the front desk when we’d go out and come in during our stay and knew they were there for us if we needed anything. We went to the Christmas shop and putt putt that were within walking distance and went to the comedy barn on site which we thoroughly enjoyed. We have been to Amish country many times but have never been to the Berlin Encore hotel but we will be back. The location was good for our stops in Walnut Creek, Millersburg and Charm. They have a nice indoor pool and exercise...
Read moreI am an Amish driver. A few weeks ago I stayed my first night in this hotel. It was great! But. Evidently I had no one in the rooms next to me. I arrived last night after a long day on the road. All I wanted was a good nights sleep before heading home today. That I did not get. The walls are not well insulated as our normal chain hotels are. Please take note of that. I went to bed early and there was noise, lots of noise which I didn’t think much of because I knew it was early. But it went on and on. I’d go to sleep only to be awakened. Why didn’t I call the front desk asks the manager on duty, Michael? You know what. I have no idea why I didn’t. I’ve never in my 65 years done that. Not once. I wake up about 6am to the sound of what appears to be drawers being slammed shut. Try to go back to sleep. Then I hear God da.. which I do not have any tolerance for. So I threw on my clothes and am now headed back home to get some rest over $120 later. Michael was ever so polite with his “should have called the front desk” and big smile. But at the end of the day that does nothing in my opinion. Yes I should have called the front desk. But I dare say it would have been me moved in the middle of the night. Maybe 75 cars in the lot. They were not full. Do NOT recommend this hotel unless you have a high...
Read moreHotel was great overall. Stayed for five nights. The rooms were typical hotel fare, enough space for our family of four to be comfortable. Breakfast buffet had just returned (had been closed from COVID) and the food selection was excellent. I'd give ten stars for the breakfast staff if I could. They kept everything clean and fresh each morning. They also were very friendly and talked with all the guests as they came through. The only complaint was the pool... and that's a big one for us. With kids, one of the main features we look for is a pool, as they love to swim. We were told it was heated to 82 degrees, but the kids were not enjoying it. A couple other guests mentioned it was very cold as well. Said something to the front desk staff a couple different days and was told they would check it, but it "should set to 82". On our last full day, kids went down to swim and the water was considerably warmer. So they either fixed something or finally turned up the thermostat. Hotel is connected to the Amish Theater as well. Shows look like a lot of fun, but unfortunately they weren't reopening from COVID until after our stay. The staff was very responsive any time we had a need and did a...
