Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds — Attraction in Dover

We came here for the fair and the derby. I was really surprised at how small this fair was & there were not many ride or food options. The derby was really long and they flagged and stopped it about every couple of minutes. We preordered tickets to ensure that we had good seats, but the actual derby was so far away from the grandstands that in reality it was about the same as nose bleed tickets at other derbys. So very many events are held at the Tusc. County fairgrounds, from the yearly hospice garage sale, to car shows, tractor pulls, and of course, our county Fair. We always enjoy the fair every year and now that my husband and I are empty nesters, we mostly go for the food. My favorite is always the ribeye steak sandwich from the tusc county beef producers, I think they need to open a resteraunt! My family from GA visited this fair for the first time. To the delight of the kids, there was a huge number of chickens, turkeys, ducks, horses, pigs, goats, & cows. We caught the draft horse halter competition & found plenty to eat.
