Utterly disappointed in our most recent Williams experience. Having a good experience with two prior flooring installations, we decided to use Williams again and expected the same level of service.
Unfortunately, it was not the case this time. Not only did we, the customers, have to contact the flooring manufacturer directly to verify our stairs were done improperly, but when we contacted Williams to resolve the issue, the staff argued with us and said they’d need contact the manufacturer. The stairs were redone. Williams staff should have ordered the correct materials from the beginning. Perhaps coincidentally, a new charge showed up on our invoice after the manager stated we would not be billed for the work to fix the problem.
After the stairs were redone, we quickly noted poor workmanship in the form of a stair nose coming off, after waiting the recommended curing time, and a large visible gap exposing the wooden stair riser underneath. After we were accused of causing the stair nose to come off, Williams finally agreed to fix the latest issue after a face-to-face request and multiple calls, during which on one call Williams hung up on us when we expressed our dissatisfaction.
When staff came to fix the remaining items, we inquired about the gap. The solution proposed for an incorrect cut was to fill it with generic caulking or a reinstall at a later date. We paid for quality work, not quick fixes, and we didn’t want to kick the can down the road with this company anymore. In the end, it was agreed that we would fix it ourselves and the extra charge on the invoice would be removed. However, this agreement involved getting into an argument with the staff member which escalated in front our children to the point of asking him to leave our property. Very disturbing.
Throughout this entire 3 month experience, Williams staff have been unprofessional, unreliable, and argumentative. Not once have we received an apology, and we’ve been treated as an inconvenience the whole time. All we wanted was good work and customer service.
We are thoroughly saddened by this experience. We prefer to support local businesses, especially in a small town like ours, but this is a local business we can no longer support- by purchasing furniture or flooring- as we continue to...
Read morePlease save yourself time, headaches and frustration and just go to an actual Lazy Boy Furniture Gallery store. Ordered furniture from salesman Don (great personable guy), received a call from Marty over a week 1/2 later saying that the leather we picked out could not go with the couch we picked out and he pretty much threw Don under the bus... so, had to wait until the following Saturday due to COVID hours which put our furniture order out 2 weeks. So we worked with Marty and picked out new furniture that our leather choice went with. He said it would be 8-12 weeks (even though we already wasted 2 weeks) On week 12 I call the store inquiring as to where our furniture was. I literally spent 2 weeks calling every couple days and getting one excuse after another. I finally called Lazy Boy direct and found out that most of what they were telling us was BS. I finally went in and cancelled the order, made them give us our money back on week #14!! That evening we drove to Canton to the actual Lazy Boy store and ordered it direct. After the whole covid stuff I vowed to shop local to help out local business but this was beyond ridiculous and such a shame. We will never shop there again. Go to Troyer's Furniture, Andreas or an actual Lazy Boy...
Read moreLike another reviewer, I have had a very poor experience with the store's communication. I ordered a chair 11 weeks ago. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks, so when 6 weeks came, I called for an update. I was then told that La-Z Boy told the store it was out for delivery and could take another 2-2 1/2 weeks. That was 5 weeks ago. I called again 2 days ago and was told I'd receive a call back that day. Nothing. I had heard such good things about the store, and my parents recommended it to me. My dad even came with me. We had a great experience in the store, but having to wait almost 2-3 times longer than I expected has been stressful. I ordered the particular chair because I am in chronic pain, so it's particularly disappointing that I still don't have a chair that I spent over $1300 on. I just want to know who is at fault. Did the store order the wrong chair or order it late? Is La-Z Boy unreliable as a brand? Did the factory give my chair to another store? If it's La-Z Boy's fault, I want to know and want to talk to them. If it's the store's error, they need to explain what happened. Just ignoring the situation...
