Yes, the road is long and rough—but the views are more than worth the trek. Even the drive in is rewarding, with elk, deer, eagles, and even moose making appearances along the way. The winding river is breathtaking, framed by stunning mountain scenery. But once you come around the bend and see the grandeur of Flat Top Mountain—that’s when the journey truly pays off. Read moreAmazing experience going up here. First the road. The road is a slightly maintained dirt road. It can be very rocky at points, and in May (the time we went) there were portions of the road you definitely needed a solid AWD or 4WD vehicle. The views were incredible even in May when not everything is in full bloom. There were plenty of side roads to camp sites and fishing spots. I highly recommend it but be ready for the road. It's not horrible, but not a basic gravel road...
Read moreAbsolutely stunning lake on the mountains, great camping as long as your ok driving down a long non maintained dirt road. Lake does have a boat ramp, is very steep and shallow, no dock. Would recommend aluminum boats only given the large rocks all under the water. If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all this is it!
