There's no where to fill up a water bottle, bathrooms only dispense hot water and have leaky toilets. The inside 'Public Beach House' looks awesome from the outside, but inside is dark with only a few chairs and an abandoned kitchen. There's a large open field only really populated by seagulls and an abandoned baseball field. It looks like it used to be a wetland? Would be a wonderful spot for boardwalks and interpretive signs exploring the history of the points nature landscape. The trails around the area are also cracked and overgrown, not ADA accessible in the least. The parking lot is littered with deep potholes and broken gravel, and access by bike and walking is dangerous. Do better Duluth!...

If you're new to this trail like we were, go to the Sky Harbor building for the trailhead, left corner of the building as you face it, this road eventually takes you to the easier, hard pack trail, and eventually through the forest (maybe you'll see a plane take off or land in the bay).
We started on trails next to the beach. Nice, but an extra workout you'll have walking in the sand. But it was nice to hear the waves coming in.
Walking through this forest is peaceful, you may encounter some shallow wet spots. Keep an eye out for transformer boxes, signs of cabins being here in the past, and other items related to housing.
