I LOVE LOVE this place! The park is beautiful and the perfect picnic spot. Lake Superior is shallow here, so it's not as cold because the sun warms it up to a doable temperature. It's still cold, but wonderful once you're in. Swimming is like a gentle ocean with small waves, sand, driftwood, and fun rocks. Very nice beach. Lots of access points to get onto the sand. Neat with all the driftwood that has washed ashore over the years. Plenty of room for spreading out so you aren't right on top of each other. Be prepared with some sandals until you get closer to the water because of the sticks that have washed up onshore. After the short strip tiny sticks, the sand is very nice. Enjoyable time to relax and enjoy the sounds of the lakes...
