Bagley Nature Area hosts a wide variety of trails on 100 plus acres of nature preserve. The Duluth Traverse crosses the tract, providing mountain biking and walking. There is a woodchipped 2 mile hiking and classic skiing trail. The Superior Hiking Trail also crosses through and passes by a small campground within the Nature Area.
Springs feed a small impoundment pond, providing a space for canoeing. The top of an old ski hill offers a great lookout of UMD and Lake Superior. The forest here is a mix of maple, oak and evergreens with excellent fall colors and a few towering white pines.
