Bagley Nature Area hosts a wide variety of trails on 100 plus acres of nature preserve. The Duluth Traverse crosses the tract, providing mountain biking and walking. There is a woodchipped 2 mile hiking and classic skiing trail. The Superior Hiking Trail also crosses through and passes by a small campground within the Nature Area. Springs feed a small impoundment pond, providing a space for canoeing. The top of an old ski hill offers a great lookout of UMD and Lake Superior. The forest here is a mix of maple, oak and evergreens with excellent fall colors and a few towering white pines. Park at the metered parking in the UMD lots or on St. Marie Street.

Absolutely beautiful! Only wheelchair accessable in the first bit and the rest is best for able-bodied people due to inclines, tree roots, rocks, and stairs. The ducks are used to people at the pond and won't go far when you visit so it's very enjoyable to sit and watch. Remember if you do feed ducks, bread is actually harmful for their bodies, do grapes or frozen peas!

Nice place for a quick hike. There's a fair amount of terrain and smooth areas for all types of walkers and hikers. You can come across a small pond and a stream while going through it. There is quite a lot of wildlife activity around the park. The trails are mulched or bare ground.

Bagley is a wonderful area for a quiet picnic in a peaceful setting. There are nicely maintained hiking/walking trails some of which make up part of the Superior Hiking Trail. At the top of the hill is an observation deck with a great view of UMD, Duluth, and Lake Superior. Cross country ski trails are maintained in the winter, and there is a tent only campground which is open to the public through UMD Outdoor...
